Great regular season team can't get it done in the playoffs.

I've never seen such a successful team in the regular season not be able to get it done in the playoffs.
6 finals appearances in the last 26 years for Dartmouth including 5 finals appearance in the last 15 years. They have finished in 1st place in the regular season a record 5 straight years heading into the playoffs this season. Had a 3-1 series lead in this years championship series but Charlottetown has battled back to force a game 7. I swear if this was real life if Dartmouth loses game 7 the city would riot. Win or lose this would make one hell of a story in real life.

Update. In game 7 Dartmouth found themselves down 3-0 after 4 innings but rallied back, and with a run in the bottom of the 8th took the lead and finally got the monkey off their back, won the game 4-3 and won their first championship in over a quarter century.

What do you have going, 4 rounds of playoff action?
No matter how strong a team is it's challenging winning 4 in a row.

I like the short season with college teams and the way you have stuck with it.

Congratulations on the Big Win!

Hope the locals don't tear up Dartmouth too bad in their celebration!

Obviously this is all fictional but if this was real life the amount of pressure this team was under would have been crazy. Dominate in the regular season. Big market team. Couldn't get it done in the playoffs. Finally got the monkey on their back. Now to head back into the next season and defend their title.

I went with the short seasons because originally I was a coach/gm and watching every game. Now I just really look over the league and make sure everything keeps in working order and I just let it play out which is fun to watch. The league originally started with 8 teams and a 54 game season. The league has expanded to 22 teams and a 68 game season one the last 45 seasons. I'm planning on expanding to 24 teams but am not looking to extend the season more than 68 games as the league has a long history and I don't want records to keep getting smashed just because of longer seasons.
