IL & playoffs impass

I have a player eligible to come off the IL but I cannot make roster moves during the playoffs. It won't let me advance though because he's eligible to come off the IL. I appear to be stuck. Any ideas of what I can try short of releasing him?

Ran into the exact same problem. There may be other solutions, but I got around it by temporarily increasing the allowed roster size, finishing the series, and then demoting a player and resetting the roster limit back to normal. Not ideal, but at least that allowed the playoffs to continue with minimal impact.
