Player individual strategy settings (such as PH platoon)

I have some questions about this -- hopefully someone knows the answer.

I generally override and set all these settings myself, but there are a few issues I've had with this,

1) Switch hitters and the platoon settings. Most switch hitters are still better at one side of the plate than the other & some much more-so. I'll include an image of a player I'm talking about ..

I've always just left this as the default for switch hitters, since I assume that the game is going to guess that "platoon" means nothing for switch hitters. Is this the case, or is it smart enough to "read" the stats and discover which batting side is dominant for each switch hitter?

2) There is no 'squeeze bunt' setting for individual batters. Is this propensity for squeeze bunting included in the "sacrifice bunt" settings, the "bunt for hit" settings, or simply not available to set at an individual level? In a perfect world, I'd want speedy players to squeeze bunt more often, as if successful they are also more likely to turn it into an infield hit. My inclination would be that if it's not just totally ignored, it'd be included in the "bunt for hit" setting.

3) Pitcher settings do not include an individual toggle for corners in. Is this combined into the 'infield in' section for the individual settings, or just ignored individually and uses the global setting?

cheers if anyone knows the answers

Imagine in your mind that the screenshot is from a card that is in the single player game and not perfect team. In the entirety of that message, I never mentioned "Perfect Team" ... Are you sure you don't know anything about it? You were able to draw conclusions from an image.

Or are you simply unaware of the ability to customize players in such a way?

The 10,000+ post person that has no knowledge of player customization ..... ok, yeah, I know that you do. But then that beggars the question -- why the hell did you respond at all? Jackassery the likes of which I've not seen in quite some time.

So, here, I've included another image (as well as the player modification settings, just on the off chance that PSUColonel is, in fact, not aware they exist outside of "Perfect Team").

I know that the game can calculate OPS based on player stats in commissioner mode.... does it perhaps use this to evaluate a swing hitter's "best" side?

... yes, I realize there are some terminology issues here, re; "platoon" with a "switch" hitter. But, again, most switch hitters perform better as either a right or left hander & many are more lopsided than the game's calculations for Tommy Edman.

So concerning second attachment, on a switch hitter -- if it is moved all the way to the right:

a) Would this make the AI less likely to use this hitter as a pinch hitter, as technically the "switch" hitter will never have a platoon situation

b) Does it make the AI more likely to evaluate the switch hitter & determine their strong side, and then use this as a 'platoon'?

c) Does it ignore this setting entirely for switch hitters (and thus making them marginally less useful than non-switch hitters, in regard to pinch hitting)

d) something else?

& further, when AI is determining which pitcher to insert, if I have the "L/R pitching matchups preferred" and a switch hitter is at-bat, does it ignore this setting or intelligently determine the switch hitter's "weak" side?

(in this case, w/ override on, the global L/R batting matchups would not be consequential (or I'd hope not -- if it is, that'd be a bug) as this is what I am modifying for each individual batter in the player settings)

"Are you sure you don't know anything about it? You were able to draw conclusions from an image."

... or am I talking about features that don't exist outside of Perfect Team?

Oh, wait!

I'm sure in the morning I'll regret this overblown reaction, but, well, this isn't Twitter... so, please, next time, save your pretentious response and just don't reply at all if you are either unwilling or unable to address the questions presented.

Thanks

Well corners in with the base game is handled by the manager, and doesn’t have any bearing on individual player strategy. I am just not sure how things are handled in PT because I have never even opened it…so I am unsure if things are somehow handled differently in that part of OOTP.

While the reply wasn't sugar coated it did convey useful information in that it could have prompted the reader to realize he wasn't in the PT forum and might get better information there.
