Question Question about hitter types

In terms of game mechanics (not real life), what's the difference between a pull hitter, spray hitter, or "normal" hitter?

A spray hitter hits the ball all around the field
A pull hitter pulls the ball
A normal hitter..is normal? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Yeah, but what advantages and disadvantages does the game think there is to one type versus another? Will a pull hitter of equal ratings hit more home runs than a spray hitter of equal ratings, but the spray hitter will hit for a higher average? And what does normal mean? That they pull most of the time, but spray the rest?

BTW, is there a PDF manual for the game somewhere that I'm missing?

I imagine a pull hitter will be affected more by lefty-righty ballpark splits than will a spray hitter. A right-handed spray hitter would probably act more left-handed than a pull hitter would.

Yes, and also if you have a batter who is dead-pull (a la Ted Williams) the defense knows how to play the hitter, where as with the spray guys, you are less likely to know where the guy will hit the ball.

I would guess that a normal hitter would be a guy who hits mostly to straightaway center?
