Young players / 4th line

Playing as a GM, is there anything I can do to prevent my young prospects from being slotted in on the fourth line when called up to the NHL other than switching to coach mode and manually editing the lines myself?

Playing as the Caps and trying to get a look at McMichael and LaPierre but the game keeps putting them on the fourth line which doesn’t seem realistic.

The only way to do this is to coach yourself. Reason why I never play in GM only mode. AI is horrible in using lines and tactics

This is why I always do GM/Head Coach and then if there is any particular aspect you do not want to micromanage you can just assign it to the AI but you're able to step in when you feel you need to. It's the best of both worlds!
