Sending players to ECHL
If I have multiple prospect goalies on the AHL team, is it possible to loan one of them to the ECHL even if I don't have an actual ECHL affiliate? I am wanting this prospect to get more playing time.

I don't think you can "loan" them per se, but what I usually do in that case is manually edit them to an ECHL team, while remaining under contract to my team (in this case, I'd find an ECHL team in dire need of goalie help and send him there). |

I didn't know this until this season, but if they're signed to NHL contracts that aren't their entry-level, they would have to accept demotion to ECHL. Not sure if that's what the game is recreating by not allowing them to be loaned.

You could call them up to the NHL and then manually send them to your ECHL affiliate.

The problem is that this goalie exhausted his junior eligibility and is on his entry-level deal. There aren't enough ECHL affiliates to cover each NHL team and I'm one of the teams that don't have an ECHL affiliate.
I could go try commissioner mode to place him on a random ECHL team, but I was looking for an easier way around that. |
