June 1975 Recap

Early signs were for a bit of an upset with perennial underachievers Washington showing up the Trips, but that has since reversed. The other three remain tight.

Nap Time

Seattle once again on the wrong end of a pitching masterclass - of the 28 no-nos in the PBL to this point, this is the 6th against the Rainiers.

July / August 1975 Recap

Never knew how uninteresting a league could become when the same teams dominate every year. Carolina and KC are home already for all dolphins and porpoises, while the other two races retain some life.

Other than that, most of the late-season interest lies in the HR race, with a few guys an outside chance of once again ticking up the all-time record.

End of 1975 Regular Season

We narrowly avoid some final drama as Seattle just gets past LA in the West, while Boston edges New Jersey by a game. KC ties Carolina's all-time winningest season with 116.

Batting crowns to Dan Brouthers (354 / 4th win), while Lou Gehrig puts together another stellar season finishing top in BA (376, his 2nd title) and RBI with 149. He also sets new all-time records in SLG (700) OPS (1182), TB (398) and bWAR (10.3). Buck Leonard is the King of Swing with 49, Sam McDowell the King of K with 395, another record. Low ERA to Nap Rucker with 2.25, Claude Osteen, Pete Alexander and Jack Stivetts tie with 24 wins, Eck has the most saves with 48. Clay Kershaw improves upon his pWAR high mark of a year ago with 13.

Unlike real life, you get the two most dominant teams at the end!

Indeed. They are meeting in the decider for only the third time, which is somewhat surprising given how strong they have been for so long.

Kansas City Blues v Carolina Triplets

Best of nine, Blues with home-field advantage.

We get our dream matchup of these two sides who this season won a combined 231 games. Clearly it could go either way - I just hope it lives up to its billing.
