OOTP stuck on loading screen

Just like the title says, OOTP 23 (and 22 and 21, for that matter) won't load and gets stuck on the initial loading screen. This has just been happening for today and I'm not sure what to do. I uninstalled/reinstalled OOTP 23; upon reinstallation, OOTP 23 loaded after a slight delay. I then closed the program and opened it again, at which point it hung on the loading screen once again.

For reference, I have the latest patch installed (.98). Anyone have any ideas? I'm literally at a loss. For the record, I am not having any computer issues outside of this.

I had the same thing happen this morning. After the second time, it finally loaded up after several minutes. This is the first time I have had an issue with it freezing while loading. I haven't installed the newest Hotfix patch yet.

Just loaded my v23 up without issue. I am not on the beta patch.

This is with the latest official patch, not a Beta. I was also able to get it to load after a second attempt and waiting for a few minutes. I haven't tried closing it and starting it up again, though.

I think this happened before. It was something on OOTP's end. I'm not having the problem this time, yet.

I rolled back to a previous patch and still have the issue.

Ok, wasn't sure what the beta number was. I did close and reopen v23 and, again, it came right up.

I have opened my Steam account while typing this and it opened up straight away to my library. However there is a slight delay when going to a discussion forum and clicking on a topic that has never been there before. Normally anything I click on there comes up instantly. Today if it's the first time opening a discussion I get a "black box" where the threads should be listed for maybe a tenth of a second and then it populates. Click on a subject and the same hesitation before the subject opens up.

Take it FWIW.

This happened to me again just now. I remembered that it is a screen display issue. I got the 'crash startup' message and the game did start, but not in the screen mode I use. I had to restart several times to get the game to offer me the screen resolution I use (don't know why that happens). Now I'm good again.

So the game doesn't start up at all for you? Or can't you load an save?
Which OS are you using? Mac, Win?
Which version is it? Steam, Epic, Standalone?
Trace files are highly welcome, if available of course.

Are you guys playing Steam?

If you are direct download from OOTP I think you can ignore the following..

If Steam, that is what I am playing with no issue getting the game up. However as noted above the Steam site itself has a slight delay I don't normally see.

Maybe an issue with your ISP connecting to their servers? Have any of you tried opening your Steam account?

Have you tried in offline mode?

I just tried it again, and it seems to be loading up like normal. Maybe the issue resolved itself.

Was a server issue, most propable. We will add a fix to prevent such freezes. Please report in case this happens again.

I'm not sure if the above comments are saying "case closed" on this matter, but the game is still not loading for me. Still stuck on the loading screen, with the ball in the logo being "jittery". No error messages, or pop-ups. A force quit is the only option to get out of it.

Running MacOS Monterey 12.6. Bought the game directly from OOTP.
