Help with small print?
My old computer crashed, and I purchased a new one. I put FHM8 on the new computer and the print in the game is significantly smaller than the previous game/computer. I made adjustments to my computer to make the print larger overall and it worked. OOTP23 baseball is fine with the print. What can I do to make the print larger on FHM8?

Probably just more of the same, (depending on what you adjusted). I play FHM 8 on a Windows scale of '125' and the print is fine. If you haven't already adjusted scaling, I'd start there.

How comes it's possible for me to shop a player whos contract is about to expire on June 30th and I receive plenty of good offers for the player, relative to their ability and sometimes exceeding, would these players not be worth nothing or even draw no offers as they are likely to want to try to test free agency?

It just feels like I can get something for nothing when I know I'm not going to resign these players and seems a bit like an 'exploit' or whatever that I will have to tell myself not to use, even though it's possible in game.

Just to illustrate this point I've included the screenshots, not one of the traded players re signed for their teams. So I was able to obtain a young player and a 6th rounder, a first team player (3*) and a 1st round pick all from 'Shop player' for players who are now all sitting in the FA pool. Also, they are all unrestricted FA's so it's not like the new team even has the rights to qualify them.

Teams aren't trading for the player, they're trading to be the first to offer them a contract, before free agency starts.

That's what I'd thought but I would have expected at least one of the teams to come away with the player. I mean, a 1st round pick (12th overall) for the chance to talk to a player and you don't sign him? Is it not worth just letting him go to FA and making an offer then? Young guys/prospects on multi year deals for a chance to just talk to a guy for 1 day prior to FA, does that happen IRL?

Yepp. Flyers were the first to do it.

Did they sign the guy? or did he end up in FA? What did they give up for him?

Just for more context, I had these guys on the TB throughout the season and shopped them a few times too, receiving offers in line with a player on the last year of an expiring deal...all pretty poor as to be expected. The offers I received when shopping them 1 day before the turn over of season were well above any other offers I've received from not just the 'shop player' in that season but probably any I've had in my playthroughs, just seemed a little off kilter.

Does the AI make these trades with each other? I never see it happen in the messages at that time of year, have you? I'd have thought if it is common IRL and yields the type of return I have experience here then it would be a valid tactic for the AI and their roster building strategy.

Quick question re historical leagues - if we start off with a fantasy draft scenario is there any way to dictate the draft order and draft structure.

For example I just went to start a historical league with a fantasy draft and the draft started with three rounds of goalies only and I had no way of controlling who picked where. Is it possible to not only dictate the order but also have all positions available at the same time?

Would it be possible in FHM9 to have fantasy draft picks to be picked in any positional order rather than having to draft Goaltenders first?

Click on the Player, go to HISTORY, use the drop down box and click on Injuries.

Besides the speed of the simulation, is there a difference in setting the sim games preference to 2d vs classic, meaning are the results and stats the same with both settings ?
I am trying to understand if one setting gives more realistic results when games are simmed.

I was recently told that having your games sim 2d but the rest of the league sim 'classic' can affect the takeaways and giveaways (as in your team will always lead those categories). I made a thread about it not too long ago, so I think it can create statistical discrepancies like that though Jeff has never commented on it officially as far as I am aware.

my takeaway from the other thread, is to set all games to sim as 2d, not classic, right?

That was insinuated I think JumpSeat, or at least that it was worth a try. I did start a new save to try this but it was running so painfully slow (I don't know if this is as a result of having all games set to sim to 2D but I hadn't experienced it running that slow before and even had a fresh install of Windows, again I dont think there has ever been an official comment from Jeff about how that setting does or does not affect the game).

Long story short, it's worth a try and if you notice anything then feel free to share on here!

I have looked all over and cannot find the answer. How do I import a custom schedule?

I thought once I click on "Import Schedule" I would get a popup and be able to select the schedule I want. But no. Just does something then says "New Schedule Imported".

When you open up a player's profile, there's your scout's overall rating, and the consensus overall rating. Which one does the other team look at?
