No background colors in Windows XP

Hi folks,

Just bought a new CPU and I'm a newbie to Windows XP. When I run OOTP5.14 all the menus have a transparent background instead of a colored background.

Thus, everything is barely readable .... Any help to get the proper colored backgrounds would be appreciated.

I've tried various skins to no avail.

Try disabling 3d Mode (OOTP folder>game configuration).

OK.. that worked once, but now it's back to the old problem and yet 3D is disabled ...

PLEASE HELP !!

What color depth are you running at? Have you made any changes, installed programs, etc?

32 Bit True Color at 1024x768
I'm using the Windows XP Style
Default Color Scheme
Normal Font Size

I don't believe I've installed any programs since I last had this working.

I have directX 9.0a I believe

Any help would be appreciated as it's near impossible to use the game with all the menus being 'transparent'.

Directx 9b is the last. Anyway, you may have to update your drivers, because I'm running the same specs with no trouble.
