Historical Season DFA issue

I'm replaying the 1984 season as the Boston Red Sox. I've noticed on AI controlled teams that some players who have been DFA are stuck on this status. Generally, they get to 0 days remaining and never get sent to a minor league affiliate. In some cases, players are showing on the injured list and DFA. Kind of weird... I'm using real transactions and have gone between using real lineup and not using real lineups. This was not an issue until after I updated the game back in the summer.

Did you enable historical minors selected on step 1 of the Wizard when setting up the 1984 historical game? It is not recommended to have both historical minors & real-life transactions/line-ups on in the same save, so that's why I ask.

Yes, I'm using real minor leaguers. I've been using this set up for as long as I can remember when playing historical leagues. However, I did not choose historical lineups just transactions. I hope this makes sense lol.

I'll let others that forgo the warning and try to use real minors combined with real transactions try to help. I suspect there are some experienced players who play precisely as you are trying to.

For my part, I've always noted the all-caps warning that comes on when selecting real minors and real transactions and so I have not tried to play that way. The players on DFA may just be parked there until the game needs them again in a real transaction pulling them back to the MLB team. I'm sure the minor league transaction data is imperfect so there may be no specific, game driven place to put them with real transactions on.

I've noticed this warning but to be honest wasn't 100% sure what issues may occur. One other thing I've noticed when selecting real lineups + transactions is the DFA player will play in the game(s) against my ball club. They wear my team's uniform and will bat really weirdly, in the wrong direction and in the wrong batter's box. This has never been an issue for as long as I've been purchasing the game until OOTP '23. Still, it's an amazing game. I appreciate your insight.

This bug also occurs in standard historical games with neither Real Minors nor real Transactions set. Most helpful thing you can do to help get it squashed is to report it on the Bugs page and upload a copy of your file to the FTP Server. Couple of us have already uploaded examples there so fingers are crossed that it is getting looked at.

Is this a new bug? I never remember seeing this in previous versions of the game.

I'd never seen similar in previous versions in t game or the bugs section... so far as I know it is. Prob be touch to quash as well... try as I might I cannot get it to reliably occur, so getting them a save "just prior to the bug" has been difficult.
