How to reset the season.
I made a mistake and inadvertently pressed the green button on the top right of screen and the opening day was scheduled to be played. Because I pressed that button, I was not able to edit the number of games in the option menu, (it does not allow me to go in and edit so I will be forced to play the 162 game schedule). Is there a way to reset the schedule so I can get back to the start of the entire game which means it says no game scheduled because it is before the actual seaon begins? I know there is a delete history of league but it only deletes the stats and stays at the same day of the played league. I am shocked that there is NOT a reset schedule option anywhere in this game, or am I just not seeing/finding it anywhere? Thanks for your help.
Note: I made all custom rosters for every team and therefore, I cannot just start up a brand new game. When I created all these team's rosters, I had already inadvertently pressed that button when the cursor was there and I was pressing return. So, even if I go into the "saved games" file and try to copy/delete, I will still be at the same place in the game and unable to customize schedule because game will not allow me to do it. Question: can I use the import/export function to export my custom made rosters to a file and then import them into a brand new/created from scratch game so I can start from the beginning of the season and edit the schedule and number of games? if you have a back-up of the league before you made changes you could restore your league to that time.
if you'd saved the game (or closed game it so it auto saved) you can't use the auto save feature, which could have returned you to a time before your changes. maybe someone else has better ideas, but these are the only two i know of. back-ups are essential just for cases as this. i make a back-up before i exit every time i play the game. and yes, i've had to use them more than once.

Always make a backup!! This is preventative advice, so I’m not sure it’s going to help you now, but for the future.

What is it exactly that you want differently? If it's just fewer games you can still delete games from the schedule editor. It'd take maybe a couple minutes per month deleted.

I do this every time. The problem is that I inadvertently pressed the green button once while I was navigating my word doc with rosters while making teams. I didn't think this was a big issue and kept creating. If I knew it would stop me from editing the schedule I would have stopped early and started over with a new game. |

I guess I could do this, didn't think about it. The issue is still that I don't have a MASTER copy of the entire game that I created. Every time I backup and when I am finally done I make a copy of the "saved game" and put it in a separate file to copy and paste in case something happens or if I want to start another, new game. This allows me to use the same rosters that I took all that time to create instead of having to do it all over again.

Question for you guys: why won't the import/export work? I export, then import the file and it does import into the game. So, what I did was create a new game and deleted all the rosters. I imported and the rosters did come into the game. A few teams got switched but the rosters were intact. The problem is the players all imported without any stats. Nothing. How can I import the same rosters that I exported so that everything (all stats) come into the game the way I exported them.
Thanks to everybody who replied to try to help me. I know a lot of you guys are long-time players who have probably encountered the same problems I am right now. And thanks in advance for any information on the import/export function. |
