Thanks Killebrew, I will give that a try tonight. What I used to convert was a program called Batchthumbs which I believe I got from Tigerfan. I will try using the MS Paint to convert 1 file and if that works I will do it for all of them. Thanks again for the quick response.

Hmmm, Batchthumbs should probably work too, I am just suspecting that changing the amount of colors of the original JPG image might have created some black hues that the game is treating as transparent. Your idea of testing the idea on one problem image first is a good one, & I hope this works.

In some of these transparency issues a more robust graphics program like paint shop pro is needed to manually change these area's of the image.

Cool

Guys,

Keep me posted. I believe my JPGs are ok, but if there's anything I can do to the original to correct this, I'll be glad to do. I want the sets to be right

how much larger is a zip-compressed file with bmps compared to the jpgs? Maybe you could offer both versions, so guys like me, with a T1 available at work , can download the bmp version and not have to convert.

Another way to get rid of the little transparent black spots is to brighten the image a few ticks. The difference should be hardly noticeable.

Well, here's the numbers...

A Zip file of 50 ballparks in BMP format is a 32meg file. That would result in...
...220 minutes on a 28.8 modem
...115 minutes on a 56 modem
...8 minutes on cable
...4 minutes on a T1

A Zip file of 50 ballparks in JPG format is a 3 meg file.
...20 minutes on a 28.8 modem
...10 minutes on a 56 modem
...1 minutes on cable
...<1 minutes on a T1

I'd love to , be it's not efficient and it would use up a lot of my website space

Cool

The Ultimate Ballpark Set 1 has been updated to include PNC and Miller Parks - and now totals 49 ballparks that were used between 1971 and now.

I have also re-filtered each file to insure there is no "true black" in the pics which would show up as transparent in the game. Be sure, when you convert the files to BMP, that you do not reduce colors to 256.

I will begin shortly on the 1931-1970 set #2.

Thanks for your efforts Henry, I will d/l the new file tonight. Glad to hear you found out why the game was showing the white areas around the stadium names. Keep up the good work

Stadium Pics

I would love to see and try your stadium pics but it seems the file is no longer there. Can you post them again or email them to me directly at rfoleyjr68@cox.net? Thanks!!!
