Game Playing Itself
I promise I've tried to find the solution to this, but although I'm in control of a team under Game Options, once I start the game, the game plays itself. As soon as I begin, I yield control, and the game just goes about its business.
The game pauses after a play is completed, then, once I click the mouse, it takes over again. I'm not allowed to make any changes or adjustments or employ strategy. Clearly, I hit a button at some point that activated this, but I can't find in the options what I might have done. Can someone help? |

When you first get into the "play game" screen where the initial lineups show look at the top of the screen. By your team should be a box with 4 or 5 selectable options (offense, defense, baserunning etc.). Each of these lets either you or the AI control the specific item in each selection. Maybe you accidently changed one of those to the AI?

I thought of that, but no, they're still all under my control (for my team). But I appreciate your response.
The worst part of this is that the game seems to play out without making any changes -- no pinch-hitting, no relievers, no attempts to steal, bunt, etc.

Game play screen, top of the screen, middle. There is a little slider for "pause between at bats." You want to slide that switch over to the right. I don't use modern 3D, but I think if you hit escape it will stop auto play.
