OOTP Go 23 Patch Released 23.07.084008

Hi all,
New patch out, which have a good number of under-the-hood changes/updates/improvements.
A big one is the memory improvements, which should help greatly with standard 2022 MLB games in terms of memory crashes, and other memory related issues like device heating and speed.

23.07.0840080 changes
- Updated third party libraries
- Greatly improved memory usage in standard games
- Added memory warning and logging
- Misc bug fixes and other updates
- PT: “Remember me” improvements
- PT: Added glow and bloom setting for pack opening
- PT: Fixed deleting messages

I am not seeing this patch yet in the Apple App Store. Maybe tomorrow?

It is there. Click on the app in the app store and you should see the UPDATE button.

Please consider these for future updates:

remove released players who are still free agents from active rosters. For example, Robinson Cano is still on the Mets active roster.

remove Jacob deGrom from limbo. Still have to manually put him on the active roster even though he has stats for 2022.

Fix the display issue where the top of the game action screen is different from the rest of the display.

And suggestions:
Add toggle switches for retired/unretired, injured/not injured, and a drop down menu for current team (including minor league teams).

These updates would make this game a ***** for me.

Does this prevent the crashing? Mine crashes daily. And after I submit it doesn't keep my changes on the app.

Does the memory improvements help with the app size? I only played two seasons and the app was already taking up 1.5GB

Memory refers to the RAM, it won't do anything about the disk space it takes up. The best way to keep disk size low is to delete saves you don't use anymore.

It should prevent some crashes for sure that were caused by old third party libraries.
There is still a known crash on reconnection with PT on iOS, and we're working with our server provider to get that resolved since it's an issue with their library

I am getting warnings and cannot watch a 3D game. How do I play in 2d mode in the app?

If it has been working for you so far you can probably just disable the warning and be ok. It was just a safety feature we added to iOS recently. Otherwise using simplified audiences will reduce RAM usage as well. There's no 2D in Go

It kicks me out of the game with the warning. Very confused that 2D was totally taken out??? Can we bring it back in the next patch? It's a must for the app.

Please stop taking out options? It's making the game unplayable. Or eliminate the advertising of "it's your game, play as you want" , instead "it's our game and we do want we want!"

I miss MLB Manager.

Still doesn't "remember me" when I logon. I do not log off and I only have one team on one device, my android phone.

2D has never been an option in OOTP Go, even last year, and not so simple as to put it in unfortunately. We do want to add something similar to 2D later in OOTP 24 Go because it'll take some time

OK, how do you turn off graphics in 3D to play a text game then?

The 2D was great in MLB Manager that OOTPGO replaced.

This is not possible in GO as far as I understand.
I would also like to see this implemented though.

What 3d options take the least memory so I can still play a game?

From my testing, the best you can do is go into the 3D setting and change audience detail to "simplified" and then set the rest to the lowest. When I do this, it runs at about 1.1GB of RAM. If you still see memory warnings, you can just go into the settings and turn them off
