How do you actually have your Pitcher (P) stay in the game at Designated Hitter (DH)?

I've been trying to do this for 24 hours.

1. Put the player in the pitcher slot.
2. Click the "Remove Designated Hitter" button.
3. Start the game (in this case)
4. ?????????????

You have to put the player in the lineup as the DH before you put him in as the pitcher. Don't remove the designated hitter.
