Minor League Roster Management
I just stumbled across the fact that my FCL2 team was only carrying 6 pitchers total, including 3 different two way players. The whole team is irate due to their 1-31 record.
![]() I have minor league FA signings/releases, Minor League Lineups, and Minor League player strategy set to Minor League Managers. I have Minor League promotions/demotions set to the assistant GM. How do I prevent a situation like this? I'm in like season 4 and have no idea how long it's been like this. |

I am not sure that having your assistant/minor league managers controlling the minors is working. I haven't seen anyone bring it up as a bug so I figure I must be doing something wrong, but I clearly have "minor league managers" set to manage my minor lineups/IL/strategy and they don't do anything. I have to manually go in and put guys on IL and ask my MILB managers for lineups, pitching staffs, etc. It sounds like you might be experiencing the same thing.

I have seen this same phenomena for years (most of my experience is with version 19). 50%+ of the teams in that league will be very short of pitching. Even with 40-man rosters, you'll see 30+ hitters and 5 pitchers, even when I set suggested roster sizes are 5 starters, 15 relievers and 20 hitters. For the lowest level, these seem to be ignored.
The funny thing is, the 30+ hitters will consist of 10+ first basemen most of which have no talent at all. I do play with age limits on my lowest league (21 and under for the international complex players and low level draftees). My only suggestion is to make sure there is "enough" young pitching. The AI tends to promote young pitchers VERY quickly drying up the lowest levels. |

Plenty of FAs in the pool, but actually I personally control minor league signings anyway. But I want my MILB managers to make the lineups/pitching/strategy once I give them their roster and they do not do that. I've had no problem with this in previous versions. However, I did start a new universe with this version so there might be some setting somewhere that I'm not thinking of that offsets what I'm trying to do here.

Can anyone who has "Minor League lineups/depth charts/pitching staffs/player strategy" set to Minor League Managers confirm that this works properly for them? |
