I promise you I'm not a troll. I'm not intentionally trying to upset anyone. I have gripes with the game and am sharing them. But, since I posted this particular post and sounded out off in a couple others I've discovered a few things. I'll elaborate, could be long so if you don't have a couple extra minutes ignore it.

First, OOTP 2023 does not "always" get it right or even close. I, personally, don't believe that has anything to do with "the randomness that is baseball" I believe it's just monolithic code that's not very well documented containing way too many settings that a.) do nothing or b.) negate or skew other settings. Turns the experience into a crapshoot, I keep buying the game and dropping in here from time to time to encourage the maestro's to fix it.

I believe this forum is typically populated by a majority that serve as gatekeepers. Perhaps maybe even one or two with a several profiles that will jump on anyone disagreeing with the narrative from many different angles. That's just how most gaming forums work. I know this. But, I'm more than happy to debate the one or two guys that try to pass themselves off as many. I can even start to see the associations between the profiles. Folks that use the same wording, figures of speech, themes, etc. I may not always be right, but it's fun weeding it all out.

There is one guy I've talked to a couple times over the last couple days that doesn't even seem to have any experience with the game. He spews out stuff about the game that just underscores the fact. Just wild rambling stuff about Molinas, and Pujols, and Fergusons and what not that give ALL indication he is a bonified troll or 12 years old with an imagination. And, a couple times when I mentioned this suspicion..the replies were deleted. So, I suspect he may be a moderator or something and doesn't want to be outed. Who knows, but that's what I believe.

By this point in time (past mid-summer) there really aren't a whole lot of customers bouncing in here I suspect. So, I "assume" most of the traffic I deal with have an agenda. The agenda is to silence the big critic, ME, because they don't want any potential customers to see negative critiques of the game. I get all that..it's the way it should be. I'm not paying for the server space this board sits on. And, I've dealt with it before.

Do I believe, jumping on a paying customer like me, it to be an ethical approach or even an honorable one. Not really, but it is what it is.

If you don't mind, and I'm serious not being sarcastic...expand on what you mean. Why, exactly, did going off on a Bubba Gump bit when someone posts "pork and beans" lead you to be upset? It's likely just intended comedy on both parts with slightly different motivations. I dunno, but can't understand why you would act self-righteous or judgmental about it.

Is it the entirety of me arguing that OOTP misses the mark quite often in statistical accuracy department. Albeit a pretty hard point to prove either way. Maybe that's why there are 7 pages of posts about it.

You put certain folks in this forum on a pedestal and it distresses you when the random Joe like me argues with them? You're just trying to bring light to your upsetedness in an attempt to censor me?

I just don't understand. But, believe me, I'm not wanting to cause any sort of collateral damage with my words of prose.

In fact, I'm done here unless someone else decides to jump on my character, beliefs, or g-g-g-generation and I feel compelled to explain.
