Random Modifiers Suggestion

I play a lot of random debut and in doing so I often choose a single year or a series of years to use as my modifiers base year. For example my current league is using 1987. Well, one thing that I think would be cool is if OOTP gave us the option to pick a series of years/season(example 1980-1989) and prior to each season OOTP would randomly pick one of those years to use for that season's modifiers. If this is ever added, I hope the year selection could be done without any form of year announcement. That way, if I don't want to to know what year is being played, I don't have to.

Figure this would be great for fictional leagues as well.

I play mostly fictional and this is something i would use for sure. It would be nice to have "controlled" randomness.

Yeah, and I think this idea is valuable for more than just historical play. The "automatic league evolution" only makes huge sweeping changes, not the minor year-to-year differences in the run environment that real baseball goes through every year. When I play the standard MLB game I've been going through and manually making small random changes to the modifiers before every season to simulate this, but it would be nice if it could happen automatically and come as a surprise to me.

Absolutely love this.
And it is something that I have done (with some exceptions) in my fictional save through an analog process of selection. But I would far prefer that the selection happened behind the scenes without my knowledge of which season in the pre-designated range of season was chosen each year.
