Pro/Rel Set up Help
I'd like to do a purely fictional 4-level pro/rel set up.
I have watched the very helpful tutorial by Decathalon Gamer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1EOnxrMy_E) and think I understand the basics. I have two questions remaining which I hope some kind soul here can help me with: 1) Minor Leagues and Pro/Rel: If teams at each level of the pyramid have AAA, AA, and A for example, what happens in the event of a promotion or relegation - i.e. do their minor league affiliates move to the corresponding minor league of their new tier ? My preference would be to have no minor leagues at all and have an old school system where teams pay cash for the contracts of promising prospects playing at lower levels, but I'm not sure if this would work out well in the absence of soccer-style loans, affiliation agreements between teams, etc. 2) Amateur Leagues: Is it possible to set up a purely amateur league, whose teams - while independent themselves - will provide a a sort of farm ecosystem for the bigger clubs? I know you can "turn off financials" for a league but I wasn't sure if this would make the league operate in an isolated vacuum from the rest of the universe or if this option essentially results in an amateur league. Thank you very much for any insight you can provide. |

So if you have Major League A with minors and a lower Major League B with minors when the teams move up and down the minor teams stay exactly where you left them and everything still works fine. When you go to the setup for the minors it may seem like they have no team assigned to them but they do.

Sounds like minors with pro-rel is a bit of an awkward beast. I may have to just try going without minors and hope the talent that gets seasoned at lower levels naturally finds its way to the big money top tier clubs. Is it still possible to have reserve teams? Like in the vein of international football set ups? |

There is a 96 team 4 level pro/rel quickstart in the Quickstart menu. I started it but I am still changing the tams because i like all the various logs and jerseys people make.

Would it not then end in a mish-mash after a few years of promotions and relegations though? I.e. a relgated team's minor league affiliates would still be playing in the higher tier's minor league and vice versa for promoted teams whose minor affiliates would remain in the lower league's minor equivalent?
I suppose if the quality of play is uniform across all the minor leagues of the various tiers then it wouldn't really matter. |

I just have 1-2 minor levels for each P/R league, and I move the teams up and down once a year to match the P/R league moves. It's really not a big deal at all. I don't have divisions at any level though, so that makes the moves simpler.
