Saved Game Location Help

I've been playing around with this for about an hour now, and I'm officially lost and out of ideas, so I'm hoping I can some help here, any would be appreciated.

For backstory, I originally wanted to move my saved game to an external drive and change my default save games location to the same external drive. I did this in game by going to Settings -> Expert -> Custom Data Path and then navigating to the external drive. I then copied my league folder over to the external drive, and figured that would be it. But when I go to open OOTP again, I get a "Could not /facegen folder, FaceGen will be disabled" message, and I'm not able to load my game.

So because I figured I must have messed something up, and because it's not that big of a deal, I decided to just go back to the default save location. So, I reset the path back to what I thought was the original path (Documents/Out of the Park Baseball Developments/OOTP Baseball 23/Saved Games), but then when I do that and load the game back up, I get the same FaceGen related error message, and I'm not able to load up any saved games. When I go to the troubleshooting tab and click "Open the folder containing the saved games", I get the following path: Documents/Out of the Park Baseball Developments/OOTP Baseball 23/saved_games/saved_games. So it's essentially created a new saved_games folder inside my saved_games folder, and that appears to be what it is trying to load. Inside the first saved_games folder (and what should be the correct one), I see my saved game file folders, but it also seems to have created new folders for ballcaps, fg_files, help, jerseys, misc, online_data, pants, tables, and templates, that I don't believe should be there. I believe it should just be the saved game folders, and I'm not sure why it would be generating these new folders. I've tried re-installing the game hoping to just get things back to default, but that did not seem to do anything.

So I guess my main question is, where should I be setting the saved games path, and/or is there something I'm doing wrong that is leading to this? Screenshots of what my folders look like are attached just for visual reference. The first screenshot is what the OOTP files look like inside my documents folder, the second shows what my saved_games folder looks like, and the third shows what the saved_games folder inside of the saved_games folder looks like. Obviously, I don't think that one should be there right, but deleting doesn't seem to do anything. Again, any help would be appreciated.
