2022 draft on live start

I started a live start but the draft is over? Is there anyway I can start a live start and still do draft?

We have updated the draft file with the start of the draft information, so new live start games should be able to pull in results from the first roughly 7 rounds right now. We'll have more updates over the next few days, and hopefully will have the full draft list out later this week.

I believe that the original poster was asking something different: could he do a live start at some point after the real-life draft but with the draft still done in-game (as opposed to the actual draft results being imported).

Of course, I recently learned from a comment by different forum member that I am apparently easily confused, s my apologies in advance if I have misconstrued the issue.

If you want to do the actual draft manually you would do like jlaw said, start your live start before the draft, 7/10.

If you start after that, the draft would be over and you would roughly have the first 7 rounds imported to the correct teams. (I'll test this tonight)

Ya, sorry, we've gotten a few requests about the draft itself.

Currently, the draft will be auto-processed if you start after the in-game draft date (currently set to July 11), and have the teams auto-updated. If you go through the custom setup and use the start of season rosters, then it won't process the draft picks (although off-hand I don't remember if the draft gets automatically rescheduled, so it may still need to be manually moved or scheduled).

The draft is complete now but when I was going to fill it in manually, I noticed prospects not existing in the file.

Is there an update on how far you guys are with the update?

How would I import this if I started a live start today? I’m ok with not doing the draft would just like to have the first couple rounds on teams to start second half and start my league.

It's done automatically when you start today via live start.

The Nationals entire draft is missing, in the log every pick Washington had just comes up empty.

What is taking so long? The prospects after the first few rounds don't have to be accurate, most of them don't make it anyways. Just fill it out so we can play.

And no, manually filling it out isn't an option since many prospects don't even exist in the game.

I remember when games came out and they might have roster updates once a month if you were lucky, and that was for the major leagues only. I don’t know how long it takes to update the rosters with all draft picks on their Munro league clubs, but I imagine it probably works great until the first time you hit continue and the AI just moves them all around anyway.

An honest question: has Markus promised to have accurate draft picks on minor league rosters mere days after the draft? Seems kind of bold unless

It's fair to assume there would be a big update since:

- It coincides with the all-star game and the end of the first half of the season
- They made a partial input for the draft after the first day
- The realism of the game gets taken away if it isn't done
- Some prospects that were drafted don't exist in the game

it usually takes a week, but sounds like they might have it before that. There are a lot of players to make and they do strive for accuracy. They only started doing the draft the past few years and I love it, even more fun for me.

The file online should be updated with everything up to the last 4 or so rounds of the draft. Any players not in the base game should be added in the next client patch so that they all show up. We've fixed the issue with Washington's picks not getting assigned properly as well.

Did a new Live Start game at 0515 Friday morning, nothing after the fifth round on the Astros, on the Diamondbacks everything from rounds 1-7 is there but not after.

The Astros also have two new signees from Cuba in Fernando Silvera and Ruben Menes who is not in the database at all, even when every league is checked at the Live Start.

I can wait till the file is ready, thanks for the effort.

All of the top 17 rounds should be complete and much of the rounds 18-20 as well (though not including any players that weren't already in-game, as they won't appear until the next patch).

If players beyond those first few rounds are not properly being assigned to their teams, you may want to delete the files in your live start folder (especially if there's a draft_list.csv file there) and try again, as it's possible the game is loading from an older version of the file and that should trigger it to download the most updated version of the file.

We don't typically fully add in all new IAFA signings during the season, as there is often limited to no data on them available. Some might make it in, but it's a bit hit or miss. Any guys who sign during the course of the season will usually show up in next year's game.

I did a random sampling of the draft classes for Arizona, Washington, Boston, all players are there 1-17, so those are good. However, for the Astros missing are rounds 7-10, 1-6 and 11-16 are there. Missing are AJ Blubaugh, Tyler Guilfoil, Brett Gillis, and Zach Cole.

Some guys are either missing from the db or not active in it currently.

They won't show up until the next patch, after they've been activated in the roster set.
