Well, the main thing I'm interested in is championships. What teams win divisions, pennants and Pro Cups, and how many. It will be interesting to see if there is a lot of parity, or if the same several teams dominate the league. Every time that I play an OOTP dynasty it's different.
Just remember that I won't be paying much attention to your players, as you, EC and I have already discussed. I'll be glad to post their baseball cards at the end of each season for your enjoyment. |

What four eligible teams might have the best chance to have Zebulon Morse potentially start his IPA playing career for them, with two of those teams being from the RU and two of them being from the TU? Just curious, that's all. Remember, he's proposed as a third baseman for his primary position and as a second baseman for his secondary position, after all, jg2977. Please advise, if and when you like and can and all. And please let me know which of those four eligible teams you actually do decide to put him on, as well. Thank you. CD out.

You've done the Mahaska Haymakers uniforms as well. They were really bad in 1874 (59-103), so they are an option as well.

Might as well put him on Glasco or Hillsboro, then, and slot Jethro in for whatever team you choose to put him on, as well, supposing Zebulon stays there long enough. As for the rivals, look to see where you put the Freemans' rivals in your original run-through of the IPA, and let's go from there with the rivals in this run-through of the IPA, perhaps. That's if it's all right with you, of course, that is. CD out.

Since Henry is on a TU team, it seems fair that the RU gets a player, so I’ll put Zebulon on Glasco.
What stadium do you think Glasco should use, if they were to be in a historical ballpark? How about Denton City? |

Let me think about that for both teams, and I'll get back to you. Can't talk now, though, unfortunately, jg2977. CD out.

Parks that do not have artificial turf at all and are generally open-air, whenever possible, with no non-retractable domes in use if it can possibly be avoided at all. Especially parks that match well with my usual preferences of good speed, good pitching, good defense, youth, player versatility, and perhaps even good hitting, for I'm not as big as many are on home runs and the like, most likely. I'm probably a guy who's more traditional in his usual strategical outlook, and someone who's more for a small-ball approach, so to speak, than a lot of others might be.
I generally prefer four-person rotations and a much longer bench with less bullpen personnel available at most than others typically carry, often. Usually with pitchers on an entire active playing roster actually making up between thirty to forty percent of said roster, more or less, at any time during a typical season. So say about 8 or 9 pitchers on a typical 25-person roster, more or less, on average. I prefer seeing starting pitchers go at least seven innings, on average, before turning the ball over to the bullpen. Pitch counts don't matter at all to me, generally, either. I don't really care all that much if a pitcher normally goes over 130 pitches per start, on average, to be honest. Pitch counts are for the birds, so to speak, normally, in my view, actually. I think that if a certain pitcher is pitching well, and is winning, or throwing a good game, they should be left in as long as possible, to see if he can finish his own job well or not, no matter how old he is, or how young. I would look for parks that match my usual preferences as best as possible, at least for those players who'd be on the Freemans' side of things here, no matter what team or teams they'd each perhaps start their respective careers for. As for the rivals, perhaps they can be on teams that don't generally play that way if they don't have to or don't want to, et cetera. Just a few thoughts here. Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure, jg2977. Thank you for your time and all here, as always, of course, Lord willing and all. That's all for this particular post here, then, I think. CD out.

For Denton City, perhaps Busch Stadium II, or Sportsman's Park where Musial used to play, with natural grass instead of artificial turf as the playing surface. If you used Busch Stadium II, even though it actually had artificial turf in 1982, I'd change the surface in-game to natural grass on the appropriate line, and see what happens once you do, and have the park factors recalculated and all. Or you can use a later version of Busch Stadium II that had natural grass for it, of course, instead, for instance, like when Pujols played there.
As for Glasco, maybe you can find a good park to use for them that works well with my usual philosophical and/or strategical preferences and all, somehow. Whether it's a real historical stadium or not, of course, jg2977, I think you should be able to find one easily enough, if you don't already have at least one such park available for you to use, in nay case, for sure. I really like seeing a good number of stolen bases, good pitching performances, and good defense quite often for teams, with often-aggressive and hard-nosed, yet not dirty, play from their players, and also a lot of versatility from players that might perhaps allow them to play multiple positions on the field at least halfway decently most of the time, if not always. Just so you know, jg2977. Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure. Lord willing and all, of course, that is, you know. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, as always, too, jg2977. CD out.

For Denton City, Sportsman's Park makes more sense than Busch Stadium II right now, as my IPA is in the year 1875. For Glasco, maybe I can put them in the Baker Bowl. It's a historical stadium that I haven't used yet in OOTP.

Henry had another great season, as did Denton City, but unfortunately Chicopee beat the Redbirds out for the division crown.

Let's send Jedediah Holmes to college. That probably will delay his potential entrance until somewhere around 1880, I think. Otherwise, he probably would start in 1876, if I'm not too mistaken here.
With him in college, that means that Kyle Jordan Walton will likely be the next player to enter of the eight that we're likely to create for Henry's generation here. At least as far as we've both worked out, anyway. Walton will be in line to start in 1877, I think, according to our planned schedule here, then. If you could scout out the potentially eligible teams that will likely need help at certain positions for 1877 and beyond during the 1875 postseason and the 1876 season, I could perhaps tailor K.J.'s profile accordingly, of course, jg2977. Perhaps Jedediah could start with the team that Calemund and his brothers started on, of the ones you added for the Holmes brothers, in fact, in your previous version of the IPA. Just a thought, you see. Then Barrett could start where Tiamghan started, and Tanner where Sikander started, and Simon where Ralph started, in turn. Once they're done playing, and their children start playing, their respective sons could start on those teams as well, of course, jg2977. That would make starting placements for the various rivals easier, I think, in time. When Calemund and the other rivals start, they could start with the appropriate teams as well, where and when required and all, you know. As far as any placements of those on the Freemans' side, we'll have to decide those later, of course, as needed and appropriate and all, for sure. But we have time to determine those later, or will, Lord willing, I believe. Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure. Lord willing and all, of course, that is. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, as always, jg2977. CD out.

As for overall career statistical updates, let's go at least once every five seasons from the start of a player's career, but no longer, between such updates, if that's all right with you. So by the end of the 1878 postseason, I'd really like to see where Henry stands statistically for his career, if at all possible. He definitely won't be a two-way player, so that should make your periodical posting of his career statistics much easier.
Zebulon definitely won't be a two-way player either, jg2977. And if we follow the same exact proposed procedure with him, his first career statistical update would then occur by no later than the end of the 1879 postseason, in turn. Kyle won't likely be a two-way player either, but if you see a potentially eligible team that could probably use help both on the mound and elsewhere on the field, and it might be best served by having him be a two-way player, please let me know. And then I'll tailor his proposed player profile accordingly, of course, jg2977. Jethro should start wherever Zebulon is then playing, if possible, when he comes into your IPA, sometime between 1879 and 1883 or 1884, I think. If there are certain teams with more than one relative on the same team, they should play together for at least one year, if possible, before being separated, if not longer than that. As for the second generation of players, let's just see what happens with the first generation for a while, first, and then adjust our plans accordingly, if that's all right with you here, jg2977. Of course, after the first-generation players retire, we won't likely have much say on what happens to them, coaching or manager-wise, if any at all, I think. But if that's the case, then so be it, you know. Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, as always, jg2977. Am definitely looking forwards to seeing just where K.J. might end up actually starting his IPA career at in 1877, if at all possible, of course. CD out.

I guess 26 wasn't an available number for HCF, after all. Oh, well, so be it, then. Change it or not, if you like, jg2977. As for ZRM, I did say let the game choose his number, actually, it seems. So let ZRM stay as 5 for as long as the game gives him that number, please.
Some proposed and/or approved player profiles may have a preferred uniform number listed for them. Where they don't, feel quite free to let the game pick a proposed player's number for them, if you like, jg2977. Thank you. CD out.

Sorry if I'm not checking uniform numbers, I can only do so much. Just be glad that I'm doing the height/weight, place of birth and birthdate, and I'm putting them at the positions that you desire. Uniform numbers have never interested me. I deleted my old version of the IPA, but I can check the old thread on the dynasty forum to see where I put everyone. Calemund Holmes was on South Fork, Tiamghan was on Sugar Valley, and Sikander was on Kenwood. I can still put them on the same teams, but you'll have to redo their uniforms to something that I'm happy with, otherwise I'll keep using the preferred uniforms that I like. |
