Southern Baseball Association (SBA) 1950's
Here is a new fictional league I am doing teams for. Some of these teams will eventually cross over to the American Baseball League that I created. The Southern Baseball Association was founded in 1948 by Department Store Magnate E.B.Benfield. As a longtime fan of baseball, Benfield created the SBA in southern cities where his Department stores were. With investors and some financial backing from the particular cities, Benfield was the owner of all 10 teams in the SBA. Benfield used his Department store chains in a similar way that Textile League baseball employed players. Many of the players were "employed" at his stores. As the league grew in popularity, many people would flock to the stores to see their favorite players. In most cases the ball parks were very near the department stores. The SBA's first season was in 1950. There were 10 teams in 10 different cities across the Southern part of the United States. During the 50's the SBA would become very popular in the southern part of the country.

Great, thanks! Seems like I'm always scrambling around to find different southern minor league teams.
