So there’s no way you can be GM only ? I understand the just switching the settings so you can control what you want, but I wanted to be able to go to job offers and see a job for GM only and not only gm/manager or manager

Nope. The process of hiring a manager and coaches isn't in the mobile game at all, so you have to be both GM and manager. The only way is to switch the settings as far as I know.

I think I was a bit unclear.

I completely understand that this was a necessary outcome and not a choice. I meant to contrast the necessity of changing backend providers with the willful choice to move to a yearly release instead of a single mobile app with yearly updates.

I understand that this was a genuine plan and that you did not expect to change it. But this is definitely a design choice, and I would like to hear more about why it was made, especially so soon after the previous plan to update the same app yearly.

It does not work. The old app has bugs, and furthermore I just bought the historical season package this spring shortly before the OOTP 23 release because it was explicitly said that OOTP Go would be updated yearly. I did not buy the historical season pack to replay an old game, I bought it because I was told I was making an investment in a long-term platform that was about to release the new version.

"Well, when you bought it a few weeks earlier I know it said your purchase would carry over to future yearly releases but now you can just play the old version of the app" is absolutely not a solution that works.

The remedy to the historical seasons issue is to offer refunds through the App Store. I’m not saying that’s the best business decision for OOTPD or if the parent company will let them, but that would solve the issue and people could use the $19.99 refund to buy the historical seasons again for OOTP 23.

Overall, I think the game isn't really big enough to get any substantive PR. They have a dedicated fan base that loves the product without a real alternative. So, they survive despite poor customer communication.

They could just say screw it with the complaining and scrap all mobile plans. That would be super irritating and then what would you complain about. I’m just thankful to have the mobile app as it is.

OK, I have been patiently checking the App Store every day since mid-April. Enough is enough. We need a specific timeline for the release of OOTP Go 23. I appreciate that it takes awhile to get the updates just right. But we are owed a specific timeframe. We are only days away from summer, and we’ve yet to hear any specific dates.

I don’t think this is unreasonable. I’ve been checking the forums everyday as well waiting for some notification.

lol, spring is over in 5 days and no updates at all. This fiasco has to be the biggest customer service/support disaster these people have seen. Definitely not worth purchasing anything again, as well as mods or whoever they are saying they'll issue warnings for people rightfully and accurately saying this is all a mess.

So, none of the bugs in the current version will be fixed, and all the years and rosters for my franchise league will not be transferrable to the 23 version. I might be able to live with the former, but having to lose all of my data every year? Not cool...
