Congratulations

But I think you're going to have trouble at the Gold level with a predominantly Gold roster. Most of the good teams at the Gold level have completed all of the Live missions and have other good cards to supplement the toppers from the missions.

I have a team in the Gold level too.

I have all the live mission team rewards and toppers, including Aaron. And some of the guys I got with packs along the way (team missions and tournament rewards) are also damned good - LE David Price, who I got in one of the great pack pulls ever; Eckersley, who I bought with tournament points; Luis Gonzalez, who I got from a pack very early on, maybe in the entry pool; Fred Hutchinson ditto, Mike Piazza who I got in a diamond pack from one or the other live mission toppers, Corbin Carroll, who came in my starter pack, John Roseboro, who came in a diamond pack from the future legends collection, and Mariano Rivera who came in another diamond pack from the futures missions. With all that, I'm not close to the best record in the league after the first day of play. I think you may well be overly optimistic with your goal of making Diamond in a few weeks.

Sometimes constructing your team according to the weaknesses of the toppers being played by others will keep you competitive. I may not be rolling with all the mission pieces yet, but have stayed competitive in gold the past couple weeks by making the most of complementary pieces (mostly mid-to-high golds) with high babip / eye and great defense. Especially when most of the pitchers are still not amazing with control, those stats will play. But then, I tend to platoon to a fault… I’m just doing it earlier in the season than ‘22 to remain competitive. I thought I was going to get slaughtered when I first moved to gold last week and won 86 games last week without all of the individual pieces. If anything, I had to hold back a bit to make sure I didn’t get promoted prematurely.
