since it memorial weekend, i want to advocate again for RANDOM generator option of military service applied to x players upon creation of world....
it adds some interesting analysis knowing a player will miss x amount of games, let alone potential injury.
(i am thinking of you micky lolich and bobby murcer)

oh and stat counters for games missed due to xyz

suspension
strike
hold out
managers decision
etc

I don't know about having it applied at the creation of your world, but you could insert lines in the injury file for military service of the duration and frequency of your liking. It wouldn't be a 100% clean because the game would probably refer to things like "diagnosed with..." and so forth. But it would be better than nothing, perhaps...

I've long advocated for this idea, particularly in-game for fictional games between 1941 and 1974.

Me twelve, although I'd prefer it to be more customizable. People trying to play international leagues would need it too, especially Taiwan and Korea.

For the US draft era, could you fake it with a tournament? It would probably have to be huge so maybe unworkable. Although it's not a complete stretch, during the Cold War a lot of the guys ended up playing on base teams anyway. Not perfect but maybe a way to get a result you can use.

To take the opposite approach, in my 1952 season sim Ted Williams (and a few others) have not gone into the service. It will be a fascinating “what if” to see how the pennant races are affected, what the “missing” stats are. But on Memorial Day, I feel a tad guilty about depriving the Air Force of a crack pilot. I guess I’m a bit worried that his absence could turn the tide against us in a Korean War sim. Overthinking?!

Haha...yes the ability to merge different sims : )
Actually OOTPB is somewhat setup to handle news around the world (i think). It would be really cool for historical sims/fictional to have Key Events in news trigger game events.

But back to basic functionality and STATS....i am sure people are sick of me asking for more stats for a stats based game.....

Than there are myriad of % you could run.

I Totally get dev need for animation and PT. better animation perhaps allows for more YT's and spreading the word (not my thing...but i get it)
PT really is brilliant (if you follow other games, it is similar card drafting that people like)

IMO stats can be levered UP to PT AND they can enahnce play by play and game streaming...... Interesting facts beside BA can be discussed or displayed.

GAME strategies changes/enhancements are always good. But without ALL stats being tracked, all there is a zillion posts speculating
