AI overworks closers in playoffs
In close playoff games the AI will put in its super low stamina closers at the start of the 8th inning. This is fine except that the closer doesn't have the stamina to go 2 innings unless everything goes perfectly, and the AI won't pull the closer at a reasonable pitch count. The closer inevitably ends up going 30+ pitches and blowing the save. The AI either needs to pull its low-stamina closer at a lower pitch count or not put it in until the 9th.
Weirdly this only seems to happen in the playoffs, the AI behavior is more sensible in the regular season. I assume that there is some coding pushing the AI to go for the glory in playoff games, but it's counterproductive as implemented currently. |

I assume you are using the 2022 rosters?
I believe they tend to artificially lower relief pitcher staminas (for real life closers) to ensure the AI doesn't use them as starting pitchers and the game logic probably does not expect stamina to typically be that low for the closer. In fictional games the closers get put in that position more because they only have 2 pitches not because of extremely low stamina. I imagine most of the testing gets done with game generated players and not the "man-made" current year rosters. |

I posted about this last week but it doesn't seem like there's any way to fix it
