Game crashes

Game crashes every time i click start game to go into manage mode. yes i have latest update. hmph. usually don't buy the game this early as there are always issues

This sounds like a problem with 3d, which means the most likely potential solution is to update your video card drivers.

If you do that and it still doesn't fix things, then it would help to have a trace file created after the game crashes but before you restart the game. You can find instructions on turning on debug mode and creating and finding the file here https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...debug-log-file

I've had 2 crashes today out of 3 attempted games played. Both crashes occurred after the computer changed pitchers.

This is right after I installed the latest update. Prior to the update, no crash issues. Since updating 2 out of 3 games crashed though.

Got a windows notification of "ootp23_x64.exe has stopped working" on both crashes. All of my drivers are up to date. Computer specs far exceed what's needed to run the game.

Not really looking to go through the hassle of running the debug thing and waiting for a crash. Frankly, that's not my job. So hopefully it's some fluky thing, or an issue with the latest patch which will hopefully be addressed. Been enjoying the game up to this point. This morning has definitely been frustrating though.

And another crash.

1 completed game, 3 crashes today. Once again, on a pitching change by the computer.

Complete waste of a Saturday morning. Frustrating.

Windows 10 Home 21H2
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
RAM 32.0 GB
Video NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
ASUSTek ROG STRIX Z370-E

and every single crash occurred after a pitching change

Sometimes it's possible the patch may not have gotten properly installed and there can be missing animations or something like that. So one other thing to try would be to go to settings > troubleshooting and then hit the button to 'force reinstall game data'.

Or on Steam, right click on OOTP in the Steam client and then verify the local files.

My drivers are up to date and I actually play in Classic 2D mode.
I'll attempt to follow that debug instruction shortly....

What exactly am I supposed to do with this debug thing? Am i uploading something to you?
Tempted to just return to playing OOTP22 for another month while these issues get fixed.

I usually always wait until the July all-star break 50% off sale to get the newest versions. I've been playing OOTP since version 4 and was often way too disappointed early on in new versions from bugs/errors/crashes...that I found it was best to just stay immersed in a franchise from the old version until the 50% off all-star break sale...because by then, they've figured everything out after numerous patches. I only got this new version last week because my friend said he hadn't seen any issues

I hadn't had any issues prior to this morning. And I did the "force reinstall" that Lukas suggested and I was able to complete a game just now. Not saying that solved my issue, but I'm 1 for 1 since the reinstall so I guess we'll see.

If you have another crash, maybe go to settings and disable facegens under the 3d/facegens menu. You can always turn it back on, but try that and see if it helps.

Did the 'force reinstall' yesterday and got 2 full games in without problem. Thought maybe that fixed it, but nope. Another crash today.



So, since updating to the latest version I've played 3 games without crash and 5 games with crash. Obviously that ratio is a gigantic waste of time that I'm not going to continue to keep investing in.



Soooooo, at this moment I have a useless product on my hands here fellas.....
