I can’t speak on the rest but I believe this is a known bug (or maybe by design) but draft leagues (and summer leagues like Cape Cod) do not seem to work when playing with feeder leagues.

I expect it is a bug unless for some reason it is not possible to have a player be on a team (even a feeder league one) and be part of a draft or summer league. Also from your other post I believe that for regions to work in drafting (and I expect but have never tried in feeders with creating players)I believe you need to set the team region (or state) for each high school team as well as restrict foreign players and set the region for each feeder league you want to consist entirely of local born players.

This is what I'm thinking, too. I think for v.0.3, instead of working through NCAAD2 & NAIA, I'm going to focus on the high schools and see if I can't get that result.

I did submit a bug report with some of the findings in the bugs forum. So Lukas & Markus will probably add some clarity to a lot of these things.

Update on V0.3:

Removed summer college leagues until we can solve player sourcing inconsistency

Completed 3 of 8 high school regions

- teams now have accurate nicknames.

- Regions & Draft Regions set to the school's state.

- Prep School teams have their draft regions set to All of USA & Canada to simulate the nature of private boarding schools

- IMG Academy in Florida also has it's draft region set to All of USA & Canada to reflect it's nature as an athlete farm.

- All school fields are set to the name of the school

- For schools from towns not present in the OOTP city database, the closest city according to wikipedia is substituted.

Have any of you started playing either build?

Great stuff Ashburn. I love this idea and it's something I've wanted to do for years. Lack of time and the learning curve always prevented me. I'll download soon, run some sims, and post feedback. Keep up the good work.

V.0.3 is complete.

In this one I edited all the high school teams. Added team & draft regions for all teams.

I also deleted the summer college leagues, since they were not cooperating with the feeder leagues.

I went to open up the game that I was working out of (the one that generated v03), and all my saves were gone. I opened up a new game with the v3 template, and every team region was juggled.

Has anyone else used the v3 template and run into this?

I downloaded v3 earlier today and have had it crash 3 times now when setting up the template. Seems to be crashing while creating/loading logos. Will go back to v2 to see if I get the same results.

Did it actually crash, or did it just freeze? Because it will take a while for the game to create the logos. There are over 2300 teams, all in. I'm working on getting accurate logo images for at least college and pro. Having those files should cut down on your load time significantly.

Version 0.4 is available in the first post. Teams have been audited & edited down through NAIA, and high schools seem to have fixed themselves with the team & team region settings.

I think I counted 2300 or so teams in this universe. Please do yourself a favor and grab as many logos as you can off the forum to decrease your load times.

I just fired up a new game with the v.4 template. It took forever to load the graphics. But the HS teams retained their team & team region settings. Players were completely randomized. But dumping all players to the free agent pool and refilling with Team Region/Draft Region settings (clicking YES at that option), and the players there will respect team region settings.

Crashed to desktop each time. 3 times with v0.3, once with v0.2. Would get 50-65% through loading logos, and then it would be gone. May be overload for my system.

Man, sorry about that, Insomniac. Were you creating a lot of logos? Or do you have a pretty good logo folder?

I ran into another issue with not enough players in high school. I turned off each region's DL rules, so that we weren't losing players for any length of time. Then I filled all rosters. Went to next day and hit the same issue. Went to each effected team and released their reserve rosters and filled with fictionals until there were at least 19 active players. I think this has to do with foreign player limit and teams creating fictional players from out of state. I think this may just be something we run into from time to time though.

If anyone has advice on how to rectify that, I'm open ears.

I've simmed through three seasons with the v0.4 build.

Everything is working pretty well so far with two exceptions.

College teams were blowing past their 15-player reserve roster limit, and I was struggling to get them valid for opening day. I have turned off roster limits for all college & juco teams, as well as the HS teams.

The biggest issue though comes when transitioning into the regular season for high schools. Each season there are a handful of teams that have invalid rosters. The workaround right now is to drop the reserve roster to free agent pool, and then fill team with fictional players. You can do that three or four times for each team to build the roster up.

For the next season I have changed player creation rules so that there are zero foreign players created for high school. If that doesn't resolve the issue, I'm going to set foreign player limit to zero. Hopefully one or the other of these will solve this issue.

I have started to see a progression from Juco to 4-year, and hs to Juco and 4-year. As well as, obviously, MLB drafting from all levels. I haven't looked at draft classes to see how it's being weighted across divisions. But I imagine that if this is like the first playthrough, there won't be much of a difference between NCAA D1 and NJCAA D2. I am hoping, though, that we can dial in the settings so the majority of players are coming from NCAA/NJCAA D1 and the higher quality high school regions, like the southeast and the west.

I am still slowly cobbling together a complete logo set (at least primary logos for all teams), which - and somebody correct me if I'm wrong - will speed-up league creation times at initial launch. Hopefully that will solve the problem you've been having, Insomniac.

Honestly, not sure. Knowing it would take a while, I would start it up and walk away. I'll download v0.4 and give that a try and see if I can figure out what's going on. I'd love to be able to really give this a workout.
