Expansion broke my reserve roster league

So I expanded my league by 2 teams and for whatever reason, one of my existing teams lost their reserve roster and now has the expansion teams listed as teams in their organization? Any idea what may have caused this and can it be fixed without wrecking my league's history? Thanks!

So I was able to fix this by jumping through some hoops. Moved the teams to another league, made them actual affiliates, then UNaffiliated them. Did the trick. Had to of course move all the players back to the correct teams.

Still curious as to WHY this happened and how to avoid it going forward.
