Importing a Draft Class?

In one of my saves I can't get the draft pool to show up correctly, so I thought I'd use another save to export a draft class and import it into the save I'm having trouble with.

I started a new save and exported a file called "2021 Draft Export" that is a text file.

When I try to import it into my save, nothing happens. If the draft is populated full of fictional guys, it stays that way, if the draft was empty it stays that way.

How do I successfully import the draft pool?

Bumping this just in case anyone has an idea. But I have two/three follow up questions:

1. Does the "Import Draft Pool" button work? There is surprisingly very little information in regards to it.

2a. I'm in a historical save that started in 1901, and I've reached 2018. The game obviously is relying upon a historical database to fill players, but as I get closer to the year that the game came out some of the players that currently exist in the minors, but hadn't made their debut until 2021 would not be in the historical database, is that correct? Someone like Max Meyer would be in the Marlins organization if you started a current day/2021 save, but would he exist in the historical database?

2b. If you started a current-day/2021 save the 2021 draft would would be filled with "real" players would were draft eligible in 2021 (Henry Davis, Jack Leiter, etc.), and the 2022 season would have guys like Termarr Johnson, all the way until 2024 (with the '24 draft understandably having less "real" guys). In a historical save when you get to those years, do those draft classes/players show up, since they're not in the historical database?

I'm really trying to understand how the game works. And I'd hate to it make 118 years into my save just to abandon it.
