Do I support the OOTP team? Well I've purchased their product every single year from the first year that I knew of OOTP - so, yeah. I do. I've done just as much to "$upport" OOTP as you or anyone else has over the years.



But yeah, people normally only speak up (whine) when there's a problem. Glad that we're making that realization here in the year 2022..... I could have signed on to AOL with my 56k modem, opened by Netscape browser and told you that same thing 25 years ago.

People that post a lot on these boards are wasting time and according to you that is a fact? Wow. Take a minute and post that in the mods forum will you? Those wasting time here are also doing it there. Maybe you don't use any mods and so you do believe mods are a waste of time?

It's not just constructive complaints that help OOTP Dev. Suggestions are made and discussed here that improve the game. Users here run tests that help find flaws or help finetune OOTP to be even more realistic. OOTP started down the analytics road years ago when users started discussions with Markus about DIPS. But yeah, stick with posting here equals "wasting time".

I am guessing when you call your cable company or whoever to complain you actually go ahead and tell them what the problem is, right?

Making blanket statements of doom and gloom, doesn't help. And piling on and calling names won't solve things either. Believe in the process. Work as hard as the developers are doing. I sure hope you meant this post to go into a Beta forum of some sort, because asking people to work hard at fixing issues for a released product they paid their hard earned money for sure sounds misguided, if not utterly entitled.


If what was released truly a beta, put the Early Access tag on Steam. Or don't get so defensive when people are upset for shelling out full price for a game with definite issues while expecting a full blown working release.

I've made my issues known - draft development and pitch counts. Simple. Mix that in with PT not even existing at the moment, and it's an unplayable game currently. Even the most vocal of the OOTP defenders are admitting as much saying you can't start your long term sim yet. Given the style of game that this is, to say that you can't start your long term sim yet runs through Google Translate as the game is currently unplayable. But there's no freaking doubt in my mind that the developers will fix the issues. They do every year. I know that. And OOTP remains the best baseball sim on the market by a mile. I've said that numerous times.



My entire issue on this specific thread was when it was insinuated that low post counts mean opinions aren't valid and low post count people are always negative. Those are ridiculous statements. The majority of OOTP customers don't post here at all. Fact. So for those people to go out of their way to register and begin posting, they are obviously having problems with the game - hence the negativity within their low post count. Doesn't seem like rocket science. And once a patch is released that gets this game playable then a lot of these posters are going to magically disappear (myself included). So let's get that patch released for we can all go our separate ways lol

It’s okay for your favorite game to have flaws. It’s okay for the developers to make a mistake and occasionally “botch” a release.

I don’t think anyone has been defending it like it’s perfect. However, the OP didn’t provide constructive feedback. He just complained and made baseless accusations.

I don't play PT, not my cup of tea. Isn't it still up and running on v22? If you want to play that badly, couldn't you just fire up OOTP22 and tear open your little virtual card packs while they fix the back end stuff that made them delay OOTP23?

I honestly do not know what changes from version to version when it comes to PT.

The fact that you're going to nitpick that statement proves everyone's point about certain people just being OOTP Stans


PT has been pumped HARD from the OOTP team for over a year now. If the OOTP team didn't feel as strongly as they do about it they wouldn't have promoted it as hard as they did. And the only reason it's not being promoted currently is because it's not ready for 23, despite 23 having been "fully" released last week.

Yeah, lets start with the OP. It was unnecessary because it didn't say anything of value. The only thing it was going to do was result in a thread like this. IMHO his first post deserved a bit of mocking and then be left to die on it's own. Instead those that find the issues games stopping (or whatever they want to call it) associate themselves with the OP by commenting here, in his thread. Let it die, start a new thread of substance would be a better path IMHO.

You're the one that posted complaints are the way of the world. The thread was started with a complaint with no detail. I'm simply pointing out that while you're correct, to a degree, those folks, folks like yourself, complaining let the business know what they are complaining about.

If the OP had specified his issues I would have done one of two things. Not commented at all or, if he was simply repeating what we already know asked why not just keep it in those threads?

So your upset because someone calls out low post counts? Fair point, I agree. However your answer is to insult long time posters? You said you would argue long time posters wasted their time more so than you. Again fair enough it's your opinion. But you doubled down that that was a fact. That requires a response the same you felt you needed to respond about low post users.
So, I simply responded that a lot of those long time posters have done and still do a lot for the game.

Well the OP hangs out here a lot and should be well aware that Matt already said he hoped for a patch by the end of this week. So I'm back to why post something so useless instead of just waiting the extra couple of days and see what is in the patch?
