Expansion issues, continued

Hi - so, once upon a time I had an issue expanding my OOTP22 league (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...49&postcount=1).

TL;DR - the game wouldn't advance because one of the AI-controlled teams (a prior expansion club) wasn't submitting its protected list for the next round of expansion. So, problem solved... problem solved... we solved the problem, etc etc.

But of course, any fan of the show knows that this wasn't the end. It turns out that this team hasn't functioned properly at all in its three seasons of life. Its partner in expansion is just fine - in fact they made the playoffs! But these guys? Well, the first hint I had was that they took NINE players in the Rule 5 draft. Then, at the end of spring training, they didn't trim their roster back to the regular season limit. I had to force the AI to set up the complete org. Then come amateur draft time, I noticed that they had three picks in the first round... AND the second AND the third.

They hadn't signed ANY of their picks from the first five rounds of their prior drafts - the picks that require negotiation, vs. the "automatic" signings from the lower rounds. We have VERY BIG PROBLEM. [ominous horn fanfare]

OK, so I let the AI draft as normal and then stepped in to make sure they signed all these guys. But here we are in the next offseason and, checking in on our friends, I see that they have no personnel at all except for an owner and their GM. I can't for the life of me see how to make the AI take control again... I have no desire to run this team myself. I am TOTALLY FREAKING OUT.

I uploaded the save file as "PITimport" to the FTP site. At least I figured that much out! Now, I will count backwards from ten to calm down...

If it's Vancouver you're talking about, for some reason they have the "Prevent AI Roster Changes" checkbox enabled. You can find that in the team settings page, or if you go to the league functions page in the league setup, there's a button there to "Set all computer teams to allow roster changes". That's almost certainly the cause of the team not managing themselves.

It was Vancouver - and I had no idea that setting existed.

Fixed it, played two weeks, and they're back in business. Sooooooo -

Problem solved! Problem solved! You solved the problem, now everything is awesome! Problem solved!
