4 isn’t hold runner anymore

Just a heads up. 4 is now intentional walk. I realized that after I intentionally walked the bases loaded.

Yeah. I don’t like it. Out of habit of hitting 4 when runners are on base, I’ve intentionally walked half a dozen batters this game and sat here banging the B key in frustration trying to visit the mound while nothing happened.

And "b" isn't mound visit anymore. I haven't had a chance to figure out what's missing, because I've had two crashes...

Please report those crashes in the bugs forum, including info game mode, on what happened just before the crash, and if possible even including a trace file from after the crash but before restarting the game. Thanks!

I certainly will if it persists. One was when I was trying to turn the Warm Up rule off (when I went to start the game, it crashed) and then I was afraid it was going to happen again on attempt number two because it hiccupped.

Directly on topic here...it occurred to me that hold runner is gone entirely. Can you shed some light on the reasoning for it being gone?

It's there - buried in the very top of the options, kind of behind PITCH TO BATTER! Needs a cosmetic adjustment.

It's always been automatic for the firstbaseman to hold the runner. Hold runner causes the pitcher to pay more attention to the runner.

From the manual: "The pitcher concentrates a bit more on the baserunner(s), speeding up his delivery of the next pitch. This option results in a slightly weaker pitching performance, but a slightly greater chance to pick off a runner. (Available only when one or more runners are on base.)"

From What I can tell If you play out game the 1st baseman will hold at 1st automatically, I been wishing for that a while. I believe he runner steal rating has to be up some. Look at very bottom of score board where it show you can change defenses if hats how you have it set up you will see HOLDING RUNNER if man on first..It's darkened out some

There’s a checkbox to hold the runner on first. I just have to retrain myself to stop hitting the four button. I have 8 intentional walks in 3 games out of force of habit. Oops!

Same here, though I seem to have trained myself to avoid 4 for holding runners. However, I’m now hitting people intentionally instead of walking them (9, which is now hit batter, used to be intentional walk).

Something I started doing recently which has helped is using the mouse to click on the options versus the keyboard. Out of habit, I would just press "4" or "9", but if I can see the options when I use the mouse, I'll stop before clicking on "intentional walk" or "hit batter".
