Minor League tab by team/level removed?
In all previous versions of OOTP if I clicked on the 'Minor Leagues' tab I would see a screen similar to the 'Overview' screen in which each quadrant (depending on screen resolution) would show a diffent one of my minor league teams. What I would do is use 'Overview' for the MLB, 40-man, AAA and AA rosters. I could quickly and easily move players by dragging them up or down as needed. On the minor league tab, I would set up the lowest tiers of ay minors to do the same. However, now the 'Minor League' tab only shows all players in the minors--totally inconvenient and useless for me.
That was how I played the game. Now I can't do it my way. This change ruins the game for me. I have no desire to procede any further until or unless this is restored. I've enjoyed OOTP for 20+ years, but I can't see how that will continue.

I don't have the game in front of me so I can't the exact tab... but you can still do that the exact same way. I look at the team's rosters that same way.
Edit: Its now under the organization tab Last edited by BaseballGOAT; 04-20-2022 at 01:18 PM. |

First off, thank you for attempting to address my issue. That said, nothing you wrote is correct. You didn't look far enough into the new new structure of the 'Organization' tab. In my op I explained what I do with the Overview' tab in the 'Organization' screen. The issue is that the 'Minor Leagues' screen (also a sub-tab on 'Organization') no longer has the functions of the 'Overview' screen. So, no I cannot play the game the way I want to.

on the "overview" you can just change which rosters you're viewing to be the different minor league teams instead of the major league team, DL, AAA, etc.... also, the new screen on the minor leagues tab that has all the players in your minor leagues in one list, you can sort them by which level they are at and it actually makes it super easy to quickly see your entire minors organization and move the different players to the different levels via right click and promote or demote accordingly.

But you indirectly bring up a good point. Anyone can go to the 'Roster' screen and make a custom report that replicates the new "minor league' screen which can be accessed in the roster screen instantly. There is no custom report option for the overview screen so I cannot easily and quickly pull up my favorite way of viewing the minors. So I have been robbed of a feature I consider valuable and it has been replaced with a screen that can easily be duplicated elsewhere should anyone be so inclined. I hope you discover something you previosly valued has been replaced with something that is easily accesible elswhere in the game.

Removing features should never be an option, I can relate, they have done this in the past.

Agreed, I'm missing having this screen as well. I use it the same way.

Ditto. I've always used the organization screen as a sort of overview (sorting on POT to see your prospects for example). The Minor Leagues screen, however, was the best at being able to move all your various levels back and forth. You can ... err, could, sort on position to get rid of some of the 5 catchers the AI seems to have a fondness for. I know some will say, just keep changing the minor league teams on the overview screen, but that a pain when you drop a2B to your AAA team and then have to drop a middle infielders from AAA to AA, etc. Yes you can, but we shouldn't have to.

It's mostly duplicated by the overview tabs, and we can make sure that the waivers/DFA tab will remember your options, too, so that gives more space that you can use the boxes.
If that's still an issue, we can look to add it back in after launch sometime, but there's already a lot of options on those tabs already that it gets hard to fit in more. |

Waiting until tomorrow to get the Steam version, so excuse me if I'm misspeaking.
If the Minors tab is gone, wouldn't a fairly simple fix be to add Minors as an option on the Listed dropdown? Make it Active, 40-Man, Minors, All Players in Organization. Just a thought. |

Leo - Does your screen resolution only allow a small number of boxes on the Organization screen? For example, mine is a 3x3 grid for 9 boxes. Since I only have five levels of minors I can see everything. I certainly see the issue if you have a lower resolution and something like a 2x2 grid for 4 boxes.

While I do have a 2k monitor and can see all of the boxes I do prefer the minor league screen to the overview to make MiLB moves\decisions. Why? The boxes are larger on that screen letting me see more players at a time. Less scrolling, seeing more players at a time leads to less frustration because someone was "cut off" in the smaller window. Maybe it won't be a big deal when I get v23 but, sight unseen I think I would vote to put it back in the game. My 2 cents. |

Good point on the old minor league screen even on high resolution. Fewer teams with larger boxes. Just created an MLB structure save since that has many minor league teams and looked at the Organization view. Even on a 3x3 grid some minor league teams are not listed.

Matt, I love the game, so don't want to be the complainer of the group. That being said, I'll give one more try at possibly persuading you towards Leo's side.
Point 1: I can replace the Minor League screen as it is now with the roster screen. The only difference is the Minor league system and Minor League prospects review. To me, since they are both summaries, they should go somewhere like the Team summary page: Point 2: On laptops and older PCs, your screen space is limited. So my Overview tab has a 2 rows by 3 columns grid. For the 1961 Dodgers, this leave 6 minor league teams that don't display on the Overview screen. Maybe not too many people manually run their minors, but if you do, please have a go at moving a middle infielder (or whatever position) thru 9 minor leagues by switching the last two teams on my dinky 2x3 grid. I will sum up by saying that if you decide to stay as is (which I get) at least figure out a way to allow us to customize the overview grid, similar to how we can customize the Manager's office screen. In a former job, I had to deal with developers such as yourself. You may not make the decision I would like, but I sincerely appreciate the fact that you are willing to open up a dialog at all!! |

I wish I saw this post before I made mine. I really hope they bring back the minor league tab as it made life so much easier. It's going to be a pain manually changing levels now any time I want to move someone up in the minors, check DFAs, place IL guys, etc.

This is NOT a screen resolution or font size issue. I've played around with many of the options and no changes improve things. It appears to be a laptop/screen you play on issue. By that I mean, on my gaming laptop, I have this issue. When I go back to my old tower with the big, wide screen the nine boxes are back. Extremely weird that a tower unit from 2014 gives better performance than a gaming laptop from 2021. I don't know what will fix this other than bringing back the old minor league screen functionality and letting the new report going back to being a custom report.
