I'm not complaining i love the game which is why I am on here waiting with everyone else, but it would be kind of nice to get a quick update from the powers at be. I know it is getting really late in Germany so i am wondering if its going to happen today

Once it hits 5 PM EST I think folks could start to worry. Markus himself said around 12 NOON EST. It’s getting later and later in Germany so many might start to get a little sweaty.

I'm eternally grateful for the team that brings us this awesome game. I have no complaints about the delay, but--politely--wouldn't mind a bit more communication right now. It would take 10 seconds to post an update that provides clarity and resolves an awful lot of the tension among the faithful.

So it is early afternoon somewhere...I am pretty excited, cleared my calendar for the rest of the day, and now just waiting. Any update on when early afternoon is going to happen so I can download the Beta?

Not sure if anyone has commented on this, but Markus has a post in the known bugs thread. I'm assuming that means they are willing to release the beta without fixing that bug (otherwise, why put it out there), but might be working on other bugs that they aren't willing to saddle us with in this release???

I was making a general statement as to why some people might start to worry. They’re reading that comment from Markus so in turn, some folks might think it’s not coming.

For the record I'm not assoc. with OOTP and have no idea what the delay is - but - having come from a software development background, it's likely they ran into a last minute hitch. Either a software issue or a hardware issue, maybe even with a third party (like the server folks).

In a situation like this this, if you try and explain the issue, there is a contingent of folks that will start the criticisms, and if you try and further explain the criticisms start stacking up.

It's sometimes much better to simply wait until you can release it, apologize, and the customers will be so busy examining the new item they won't take the time to complain.

Just get a beer, or coffee, and hang in there

Hope the codes come soon for all of you. I guess one of the benefits of purchasing on Steam is that I am not waiting on pins and needles today.

Not really. Some people get bugs that others don't. Just because you get a bug or I get a bug doesn't mean everyone else will. Different computer setting, etc etc....I'll all be cool. But I'm anxious too

My guess is they ran into some issues. Given the complexity of the software and the distribution (and I do believe they have a new back end service as well) it's not surprising. Hopefully they'll work out the kinks quickly but as others have said it's already late in Germany. I'm not a patient person but in this case patience is the best course.
