Expanded MLB Save - Season 5/20 Update (Small Teaser included)

For the very beginning to this, please read this intro

We've finally reached the 5 Season mark in this Expanded MLB save as the Los Angeles Angels. And much has happened since I don't know where to start with this. Ever since the start of the Adventure, I've been taking control of the Los Angeles Angels and we've been consistently making playoffs but up until 2025, they had lost to the Rays each time. But then in 2025, this happened...

That's right, the Angels had made their first WS appearance since 2002, and Mr. Bob Bugler; a former Angels Pitcher who is the current GM of the Halos saw a WS Appearance for both the team and for himself in the eyes of a GM. He wanted to give the current Angels the chance that he never had got back in the day while playing for them and already this team is getting pretty close.

The Team itself:

Carlos Rodon had taken a downhill turn after getting Hurt and missing out all of 2023, his stamina being the most affected by it as it had made him not Starter Material anymore. This here is his profile as of 2024.

I had picked up DeGrom as well in 2023, but, me being a new-ish OOTP player, had blown a bit of budget and wanted Jacob DeGrom on the Angels but could not afford to get into a bidding war especially after signing Rodon. So, I will admit I went into Commissioner Mode just for the sole purpose of signing people over budget and had splurged into Pitching since after being shared that good pitching as the Angels would get them far.

Wait... Bill Stover and August Erstweiler? Those aren't right... when I searched for those names, nothing came up. It was supposed to be Corbin Burnes and Bo Bichette who won their respective awards... After loading the game back up, the names and cities all seemed to be fixed.

An International FA I signed out of Taiwan also got named Rookie of the Year as well

Hall of Famers:

At the start of the Series, in 2022 Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez both were inducted into the HoF with David Ortiz being inducted in 2023. No one else had since gained enough votes to be named.

League Changes:

I did add League Evolution since that's one thing I liked while doing a fictional save, While at the start of this, I did add six new teams to MLB, but we'll get to them later. But in 2023 the only League Evolution that happened to date had been the 40-Man being cut down to a 38-Man roster and the mound was lowered and the league officials want more offense.

The six new faces:

If you haven't read the introduction already, as part of the save, I added six new teams to MLB in Vancouver, Charlotte, Portland, Montreal, Austin, and Nashville. Why? Well, this is my very first MLB save and I didn't want to make it just an ordinary save and threw in a hook. I might redo the uniforms I made at the beginning.

What now, Mr. Bugler?

Well if you all made it this far in my post, good job. We may have lost the World Series but we will be back. And even then, I have until the end of my save in 2042 to win at least one World Series title if I can. It's been an interesting change of pace, to say the least, for my first MLB save, and my second real OOTP save in general. The last time I was doing this, I was running a fictional team in a fictional league in a Below Average Market. It does feel a bit nice to have a budget bigger than about $100 million. Got through the 2025 off-season, will share how FA signings went in a separate post. Current Bench Coach retired but I think we got a new one by the name of Chip Hale.

I think that's the end of this update, thank you all for taking the time to read this, and I will make sure to light that Halo up for the Angels. This had been a fun playthrough so far and I hope to see where the other 15 seasons will take me.
