Feeder League Draft Order
I have added a fictional feeder league to MLB parent. How can set it to draft last in an inaugural draft. Does anyone know how to do this?

Feeder Leagues will not participate in your inaugural draft, only your MLB teams will.
Feeders should be filled with fictional players when you create them. |

Thanks for your response Bluenose, much appreciated
I should of clarified, 1) I am in commissioner mode, and 2) it is an MLB draft that drafts in the following order for an MLB team: MLB, AAA, AA, A+, A, ACL or FCL, DSL I have added a feeder rookie league (like DSL) and I want it to draft last for an MLB team, that is: MLB, AAA, AA, A+, A, ACL or FCL, DSL, Fictional feeder rookie league added. |

I'm confused as to what you're doing. When you hold an inaugural draft, only the ML Teams draft. It fills it's affiliates that way, AAA, AA, etc etc.
The minor league teams do not participate in the draft. |

Thanks Bluenose for your response. I fully understand what you have indicated twice. Only ML teams draft resulting in their affiliates' rosters getting filled and that minor teams do not participate in the draft.
What I am asking is that fictional rookie league with affiliated teams to ML teams that I created get their rosters filled last. Or as I have tried to indicate before the during a ML inaugural draft affiliate rosters get filled in the following order: AAA, AA, A+, A, ACL or FCL (depending on affiliate), DSL, fictional rookie league which is a feeder to ML (similar to DSL) Thus, the affiliates in the fictional rookie league get their rosters filled last as an ML team drafts. |

Here is an example where I would like minor league to be in a different order (this example is to clarify this thread and I do realize that it has nothing to do with the inaugural draft. It is just to illustrate how I would like to change the order of minor league feeder affiliates:
From a Player's Actions menu image below, "Send to Rookie League Boston (INT)" should be last (please refer to attachment). Last edited by flerman; 04-01-2022 at 02:27 PM. |

Ok, I think I understand now. You want each MLB Team to draft all their MLB players, then their AAA players, then AA, etc etc in ascending order?
There's not any way to control where a team places its drafted players unless you control every team. However even then, while drafting, once you make a selection the AI places the player where it thinks they should be. So it could be any level. You would have to move the players where you want them after the draft. Last edited by Bluenoser; 04-01-2022 at 02:49 PM. |

Thanks Bluenoser. You confirmed what I observed. May be I'll put to tech support to try to get the developers to incorporate in OOTP 23 with a future update patch.

Is there a reason for you to do it that way? As far as I know there is no team that drafts that way. You draft based on scout reports and who is available at the time. If that rookie you really want is available and you think he may go before the next round you draft him and put him in your rookie team, then next round you draft a solid pitcher who is ready for AAA right away, then the next round might be a solid player but not ready yet so you put him in A ball. I see no reason to draft only AAA then AA then A the R. IO think you would miss out on players that way. Now if there is a reason you want to do that way, that all well and good, just not sure what that reason would be. Trevor L. |

Hi Trevor,
When the Schedule Fantasy Draft option is used to release all players as free agents for an Inaugural Draft I am looking to distribute player talent in descending order. Thus according to majors plus minors class systems of descending order are: MLB, AAA, AA, A+, A, ACL or FCL (American Rookie Leagues), DSL (Foreign Rookie League). Thus resulting in the most talented players rostering in MLB, followed by AAA, and on and so forth. Also helps with team transactional promotion/demotion system. |
