Requested these for FHM 8, but in particular order:
1) Fix the shape of the 2D rink and unrealistic colouring 2) Add some improved sounds effects i.e. organ to 2D 3) Teams set SPECIFIC team needs: top line centre/back up goaltender etc... 4) Better in-game notifications when clinching playoffs and other key information during season 5) Add media interaction 6) More media within game world 7) Anything to improve in-game immersion in realistic way 8) Some sort of clarity over tactics and effectiveness - wayyy too vague at moment which just amounts to guesswork Please help me renew my faith in the FHM series!! Adding a way to quickly see for which teams a player is willing to waive his NTC, instead of trying all the teams one by one.

minor hockey
I know this is wishful thinking and If it doesn't happen that is no problem I would love to see Atoms,Peewee Bantam and Midget options for leagues
of course they would be all fictional players |

from a multiplayer perspective....
Staff signing. I would LOVE to see staff signing be in the control of the player rather then the commish. so I dont have to sign 32 coaches every sim... in my mind it would work the same way as FA players.
AI Solving Injuries during sim - allow the lineups feature to work with GM controlled tactics in online leagues. I hate having to stop the sim because someone's 4th line winger got hurt. -- EHM Has this feature! why cant we? GM trades - allow GMs to make their own trades. i shouldn't have to do it for them as commish -- EHM does this very well. GMs ask players for NTC/NMC Lists - i would like it if GMs could get the list of teams that NTC/NMC players will go to. data import - it would be great to be able to create something like stats+ for FHM...however to do that, the data needs to be readable and writable. we can export data but we cant import it. OOTP already does this! Goalie Starts - i would love for GMs to be able to set who starts what game in the calendar view - what this solves is that goalie start settings are...sometimes inconsistent (who is considered "the starter" by the AI etc.) AHL / ECHL staff control - I would never expect a NHL GM / HC to be able to dictate the lines of an AHL/ECHL club... but they should absolutely be able to hire/fire the staff just like in OOTP. Staff Limits - you shouldn't be able to hire 20 coaches for a team. there should be a sane limit to coaches. - maybe this is a league / Comish control setting ? have something similar to the quickstart codes that OOTP has

In terms of tactics, it would be great to have clarity on what works and what doesnt, what bearing does it all have. I made a post a little while ago in the bugs forum mentioning that it would be great to have visual information relating to our current squad available when selecting our tactical setup. This would be helpful for both new and more experienced players, as it's not so much relying on you understanding the concepts behind the tactics because the game is relating that information to the suitability of it to your current roster, so by virtue of having that connection you will understand firstly what type of tactics are best suited to your players but then also what type of players you have and WHY that works. I'd also like to see some more streamlining to the trade side of the game (I hope this is something that the team looks to improve every year anyway by default). I'd love to have more flexibility in negotiation, it becomes very tedious adding in seemingly arbitrary pieces incrementally only to receive the NO WAY!!!!!!! email a few days later, it would be great to have more real time feedback like we get closer to the trade deadline. Also general feedback about picks in trades would be good too, because that can feel like a crap shoot earlier in the season. I get offered 5th round picks for 3/4 star guys on an expiring deal but then there are shop rumours of an overpaid veteran on a terrible contract for another 5 years and they laugh off my 5th round pick offer. It's not that I think these decisions are incorrect as I know Adam always responds with explanations of GM decision making and logic being relative to their respective situations at the time that the AI calculates all of it's responses to various trade opportunities, it's just that I'd like more variety in how the game tells me WHY these things happen so I can feel like i'm in a negotiation. Obviously the 'make this work' button has been briefly touched on by Jeff before, that'd be great provided it suits the game as I know there are fundamental differences between FHM and OOTP. Would real time trade negotiations ever be possible? Or is that too big an overhaul of the existing system? I mean when I think of the trade system in FHM now it sort of feels like I'm communicating with the other GM's via Fax or email. I send off my offer and then they see it, write out their response and then fax it back to me in black and white. However, in the OOTP trade system, I feel like I'm on a phone call or even in the same room as the other teams GM, they provide real time feedback and suggest various pieces that it would take to get the trade done, as you'd expect from a GM who's willing to negotiate and is looking to make deals of their own. |

I know right. When you can't import data the whole idea of exporting loses much of it's glitter. Honestly, it doesn't seem unreasonable to think the two should go hand-in-hand. So having just one does seem quite incomplete.
Love this idea as I've oft struggled with the same issue. A BIG +1 from me. |

Have all the same stats as Hockey-Reference.com. Everything sortable and filterable. Tool tips on all headers.
Show OOTPB how it is supposed to be done. 22 years and they still don't have sortable team stats and only half the stats bbref has. |

Some little things I'm going to nit-pick about because we're talking about fixes for the next edition:
1) Enforcement of overlapping penalties is wonky. I don't care if the protocol for coincidental penalties is exactly the same as in real life (and I know some do care about things like that), but I've seen penalties just forgotten and teams getting jobbed out of power-play time. That's one example; if there are several penalties in quick succession there's usually a "huh?" moment. 2) Special teams in general needs work. I've mentioned the thing about players staying out of position even after a whistle once 5v5 has been restored. I've also noticed that many (most, I think) power play goals happen in the first 10 seconds. 3) Goaltender fatigue: If both goalies play, they're both fried the next day, as if they both played the whole game. My coach tends to lift a guy who has given up six goals. OK. He did it once when the sixth goal came at 19:57 of the third period, and the guy who played 3 seconds lost about as much condition as the guy who played 59:57. |

I concur. Most PP goals in the first few seconds is definitely an observable pattern. And also yes to players remaining out of position after a whistle after their team has killed a penalty.

AI needs to lot of work in general, but what i mostly like to see is AI improvements how they are building team. AI doesnt seem to understand consept of good or bad contracts. I think contract should determine player value more. Also it doesnt seem to understand own depth chart. I see a lot of AI siging lot of ” unnecessary” players. For example if AI has three good RW prospects i dont see much of point signing two 28-31 yo top 6/9 in to atleast 3 years contract.

Please can we drop the hockey cards from the pre-game screen?
They offer nothing. It would be far better to actually have the stats of the starting goaltender and star player. Personally, I don't think the cards don't even look that good imho. The player is positioned too far down and if you look, the top-half of the 'photo' is just background. The frame around it, which I appreciate can be modified, also looks very bland and out of date. I mean this constructively so apologies if coming across negative. |
