Jesse Burkett - Cardinals
Anything out there of Burkett with St. Louis's National League team?

Found this... not sure if it's with the NL team, but the guy who colored it used red and not brown so maybe it is.

As Krantzbucks stated, the colorized image of Burkett shows him in the 1903 uniform of the American League Browns. Two images of him with the Perfectos (Cardinals) in 1900 (left) and 1899 (right) are pasted below: |

1974 Ken Reitz photo
I was wondering if there ever was a Topps Vault photo of Ken Reitz exactly like this one but larger. I noticed that a lot of the 400px wide photos were then release at, at least 500px wide in the zips starting about GA+. I looked all through mine but I might of missed that folder.
Thanks, BRobby05 |

I already tried that with mine and I didn't like that blue in the name and cap emblem. That's why I asked if there was one in the actual Topps Vault instead of using Gigapixel. I appreciate the try but I'd rather have the other photo file if available like the other player photos.
Thanks, BRobby05 |

Running the Numbers on Missing Players
Hi all,
just going through my spreadsheet of missing players and ran some numbers. According my numbers there are now 349 major leaguers (including National Association) without known images. This number is in flux, since a few players remain misidentified in the record book. By era: 101 missing from 1871-1875 183 missing from 1876-1889 56 missing from 1890-1899 9 missing from 1900-1919 127 of the missing players only have one major league appearance. 4 missing players appeared in over 100 games Top 10 Missing players by games played: Jim Holdsworth 319 Jack Leary 129 Art Croft 133 Henry Luff 106 Bill Stearns 99 Bill Morgan 94 Frank Fleet 88 Charlie Householder 83 John Shetzline 73 Redleg Snyder 72 Four teams comprise have a high number of missing players: Philadelphia Athletics (AA) 1890 17 missing players Washington Nationals (UA) 1884 17 missing players Baltimore Marylands (NA) 1873 12 Missing players Brooklyn Atlantics (NA) 1872-1875 have 29 missing players Here is my top ten most wanted list: Ike "Sammy" Samuels - early Jewish player and lived until 1975 Jack Leary - 129 games and very colorful character Jim Holdsworth - missing player with most prominent career James Burke - won 19 games for Boston Unions in 1884 Fleury Sullivan - led AA in losses in 1884 Tom Oran - early Native American player Shorty Gallagher - only player for Cleveland AL franchise without an image - extensive minor league career Sam White - 1 gamer from 1919 makes him most recent player with no photo Jack Smith - one of the Ty Cobb strike game players - and only missing Tiger player Fred Osborne - reputedly first Alberta, Canada (my home province) to appear in majors |

Looks like you've already found Fleury Sullivan back in August of 2020.

Oh geez, how could I forget that!
Replace him on my most wanted list with Wesley C. Blogg, who was reputedly the last 19th century major league player to have a beard. |
