International Scouting - Hidden Players
As shown in the attached image, there is an option referenced in the OOTP 22 Manual that mentions Hidden Players. Where is this setting? The manual does not match up with what the settings actually are in the game.
Also, does OOTP 22 have the real international free agents in the game? The Washington Nationals just acquired the top player Cristhian Vaquero from Cuba, however I can't locate this player in my OOTP MLB 2021 - 2022 game. |

The real international free agents are not in the game, unfortunately. The system only generates a new crop of them on July 2. So someone like Vaquero will only appear in next year's version.
The hidden players system I don't think directly exists anymore, so that's another piece of the manual that deserves some cleanup. If you have the "Generate Free Agents from Independent Leagues" setting enabled for a league, then you may occasionally get notes about players and have a short exclusive window to sign them before they become general free agents. Otherwise, the international free agents are either the simple scouting finds which are added for "free" to your system, or the large international class. |
