How to generate history (stats) for a fictional league

I'm trying to create a Mexican league, but I want decades of stats already in place. That way I can identify teams that have struggled, and pick one of those teams to manage. Please help me!

Also, I can't for the life of me remember how to bring up the app.cfg file so that I can change the default baseball card template. Anyone know how to do that?

Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, the way to generate stats in a fictional universe prior to playing is to determine the year you want to start in, and then create the universe a number of years prior and simulate up to your desired year. For example, if you want 50 years of history, and want to start in 1980, then you would create the league in 1930 and sim all the way to 1980, where you can look at all your league's history so far and see who has struggled, who were the juggernauts, all different records to date, etc.

As for the card template, I would not know about that one, sorry.

Yes, that's it. But now I think what I'm after is a style of play based on the "golden years" of baseball, with that style never being replaced by anything else. I want a bunch of history in the league BEFORE I pick a team, of course, but I am interested in baseball of the old days. Black and white cards. I don't know if what I want is possible.

I still don't know about the cards, but I do know that you can create a fictional league and select the year you really want to emulate throughout your save, and set your league to only use that year every year to generate stats. So, if you say 1901 is the year you want to use, you can set it up to always use 1901 as the baseline for modifiers. The years will go by, but the baseball era will always be according to 1901.


Then you can still sim (in commish mode) however years of history you want, stop and analyze your league history and pick a team from there. Even if the calendar says "1954", if you've set your settings right, you will still get 1901 stat outputs.
