Team built now looking for advice.
So, I just finished all of the FH#3 today. I've had to sell of some of the lesser rewards along the way but I was able to keep all the best cards. I'm currently in the Gold league and am looking to hopefully get better in the future.
My team is now: C: Ivan Rodriguez 1B: Roger Connor (20k away from getting Dan Brouthers) 2B: Eddie Collins 3B: George Brett SS: Bill Dahlen LF: Ralph Kiner vs. LHP/ Ted Williams vs. RHP CF: Mike Trout 100 FH3 RF: Tony Gwynn DH: Tris Speaker Bench: J. Mauer as catcher, J.Robinson & B. Wallace in the infield. Starters: 1. Sandy Koufax 2. Randy Johnson 3. Jacob DeGrom 100 SE 4. Greg Maddux 5. Warren Spahn Bullpen: Roger Clemens- CL Eppa Rixey- Stopper Corbin Burns- Setup 100 Selects Felix Hernandez- Setup Liam Hendriks- MR 100 POTM Charles Nagy- MR Walker Buehler- MR 100 Selects Gaylord Perry- LR I also have a ton of other cards from the missions and such that I could switch my bench up if needed. I have a neutral park, and know that I need to specify it to my players' strengths, but I'm looking for advice for that too. I also know that Nagy is considered not very good but has been dominate as a reliever for me for the last 14 years. I'm also looking for strategy tips and advice. EDIT: I adjusted the team to how it is now.

You've already won Diamond League! If you need advice then I need advice, too.

I agree that Eppa and Brouthers would be pretty good upgrades, especially Eppa over Nagy. Eppa's been fantastic for me every year he's been in my bullpen, especially as a stopper type.
As for SS, Cal's fine, but if you can get Arky Vaughan, he's probably the best SS this side of Honus at the moment. Other than that, it doesn't look like that bad of a team at the moment.

No, but 1/3 of the price with close to the same results. Conner better against R, but Brouthers better against L. Brouthers has better speed as well. Very comparable.

Looking at your team you need to jack up your HR park factors and reduce your baserunning strategy.

IMHO Arky's weakness against LHP is too exposed when there is so much of it. I would (and do) pick both Dahlen and Ripken, in that order, ahead of Arky in the assumed absence of Wagner. I agree with you on Brouthers, though. Cabrera is an under-rated 1B option as well.

I wanted Ripken to be a strong option at SS but he has proven otherwise.

I think both can be effective, but I think Spahn can be slightly better in the rotation.

In my experience the performance of individual pitchers (Koufax and Maddux excepted, maybe) can vary so much across seasons there's no real answer to that. Play one, and if their performance is disappointing, switch them for the other one. That said, Rixey seems to be the more reliable closer of the two.

I decided to put Rixey in as my stopper for now, so let's see how he does.

So, I just updated the post to reflect my roster moves, is there anything else that I should do?

Just keep plugging away. I’d say that your pitching will need more attention than your position players. DeGromm won’t cut it in your rotation at the higher levels and your pen could use some bumps. Mauer was a tank for me for a long time but you’ll want to upgrade there. Which Jackie are you using?
