Fall 2021 Skyboxes are arriving
The first offering is a gloomy sky cast above asrivkin's Charles C. Hughes Stadium in Sacramento. Both a day and night sky are included. They're also in webp format rather than the old jpg's. It'll save y'all a ton of drive space!
To use, simply unzip the archive, drop the two folders (sky_box_day and sky_box_night) into the stadium folder of your choice inside your 3d ballparks folder. Be sure to reload the model or they may not load. See pic below for how your ballpark folder should end up. This is taken on a dirt road between 2 farm fields near Star City, Michigan, about 45 minutes from the Cobb estate (baaaahahahahaha...estate...). I'll need to return there in the future to perhaps take an actual night shot, rather than just editing it. Suggestions are welcome. I may take location requests starting in the spring if they coincide with Mrs. Cobb's and my travels. She's pretty understanding about letting me stop and take shots as we travel. Remember, it has to have a fairly large clearing, or you'll end up with out of proportion objects in the background. It sure is good to be back at this! Just outside the quiet village of Arcadia, MI, is Keillor Road. This is taken a short distance from the Arcadia Dunes...the smaller cousins of the great Sleeping Bear Dunes to their north. Our weekend hideaway is about 30 minutes from this spot. Northwestern Michigan is a jewel!
Day and night pic's are taken from a slightly modified version of Louisville Slugger Field. I...ahem...deleted the picture contents in the file that serves as a background, which is why there's no bridge showing. Not only does it eliminate the objects you might want removed, but you can also do away with the hard edges creating a straight line of obviously different sky. Also a handy way to experiment with giving your stadiums a local flair. Link: https://mega.nz/file/q7ZC3bYL#lo0RMP...HX2pP3Ri_FYlxQ
