Praise and Question
Good evening,
I would like to start by saying how great this community is and has been. I am new to the OOTP community and just over a month ago purchased OOTP 22 and came here to ask some initial questions to better get a feel for the game and features. Everyone was truly patient and more than generous with their time and comments, thank you for making a new member feel welcomed! I had taken the advice of several seasoned vets to play around with the game and get more familiar and comfortable with it - which I have done, but I am sure will be even more comfortable as my season progresses. Currently, I am playing with the Braves and we are just half-way through ST. I unfortunately restarted my season/dynasty after the initial comments and feedback I received and so instead of only having to offer Freddie Freeman and extension I had to contend with him being on the FA market. We ultimately resigned him, but it definitely cost us. My question is: I noticed quite a difference in his performance after resigning him as a free agent from when I initially started and only had to offer him an extension. Does this play into anything game wise that would effect performance? And lastly, the Spring Training field has billboards and the scoreboard that look incomplete? I have searched but have been unable to find any updates for it? Any suggestions would be great! I am attaching a screenshot of the field to see if anyone has any ideas. Thank you! This game is everything I have been looking for! Maddux Last edited by maddux31!; 12-08-2021 at 06:38 PM. Reason: Trying to add attachment |

Glad you are enjoying the game, Maddux. I'm aware of no additional variance in performance from a player if he receives an extension versus coming in as a free agent or just aging as part of an existing contract. There is variance from year to year so even if you turned the game into a quick-start with a restore point on the first day - every year will play out differently.
This is true even in historic replays if you use the development engine instead of having the game calibrate each player to each new year. I suspect you are just getting random good year vs. bad year variance. Some things might also be different between your saves that are affecting him in the particular. Coaching, Chemistry, etc. There's a bunch of factors coming into play in a given iteration when the engine in projecting players forward. Don't regret the signing. He ought to be a Brave after all
