Thanks! I switched to a different browser and the link worked. I couldn't open it with Chrome, for some reason.
NEW PROBLEM: I've downloaded and extracted the editor. When I select run.bat, nothing happens. I also tried "run as administrator" with the same result. ?? UPDATE: I needed Java. Now it's working. Last edited by NoBenNotAgain; 08-08-2021 at 09:11 PM. |

Schedule a Break?
Is there any way to schedule a break?
I.e. could I generate a schedule with no games between two given dates, say July 7th and August 1st? UPDATE: Simply scheduling a long All-Star Break does the trick. This is a beautiful tool. Well done and THANK YOU! Last edited by NoBenNotAgain; 08-08-2021 at 09:45 PM. |

I'm stuck. I'm running a Mac, but I have Windows installed also. I started first on the Windows file, but clicking the .bat file seems to accomplish nothing, and no tasks appear in the Task Manager.
On the Mac side, I don't have Java, so I downloaded it. But even after that, opening the .sh file only opens notepad with a file that says: #!/bin/sh java -jar OOTPScheduleGenerator.jar settings.ini $@ Can you provide any guidance? Maybe I need Java on the Windows side? Last edited by cbbl; 08-09-2021 at 03:59 PM. |

I have Mac also…does this mod work as intended? Or is it still “a work in progress”?

Downloaded on a Mac, but would not work. I probably don't understand enough for it anyway

I seem to be having a bit of difficulty scheduling 3-game series only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I have 20 teams who will play each other home and away (3 H, 3 A) for 114 games - I've attached the settings.ini to this post (but changed it to a .txt for the upload). However, the scheduler ignores the off-days on Monday through to Thursday and generates the schedule over 114 consecutive days. ![]() If I add break days to the ini file it puts break days during series and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong: ![]() Any tips? |

Plugged a game-generated schedule into a spreadsheet and changed it to fit your specifications.
With the schedule lasting 38 weeks, you'll need to start it in February to finish at a reasonable time. |

Wanted to thank you for this. Came in handy for my US States League project!

In the file you posted, the week-aware scheduling lines begin with semicolons, which means they're ignored. If you remove the semicolons, you should get a schedule more like the one you want. You'll want to turn break days down again, too—when enabled, the off days setting handles adding breaks. |

I would like to emulate the NFL schedule (at least prior to the 17th game being added). If you aren't aware the NFL (two conferences with four divisions of four teams each) would rotate divisions for each team to play in their own conference (IE the NFC East plays each NFC division once every three years), the opposite conference (IE NFC East plays each AFC division once every four years), and then you would play your same-place finisher in the two divisions in your own conference you aren't already scheduled to play (IE Washington would be playing the Bucs (who they were already scheduled to play bc of rotating divisions), Packers, and Seahawks this season).
I have a forty team league with four divisions of five teams each and would like to set it up so we can play the same place finishers. I understand you can create pools so that the divisions can rotate each season, which is great, but no sub-pools or anything similar for division standings. Is there any way to work around this? |

For the mystified Mac Users (Like I used to be)
Quote:
Once you've installed Java (free download from Oracle), don't change any of the filenames. 1. Open settings.ini. It's very well documented inside. 2. Adjust the schedule parameters to your liking. (You can use TextEdit, but BBEdit makes it easier for me, and it's free) 3. Save the file. 4. Copy the pathname of the folder you've got this app stored in by doing a get info on the FOLDER and selecting the pathname from that window (see Pic) 5. Open the Terminal. 6 Type cd, a space, and paste the pathname you just copied. This tells the Terminal where to look. 7. Type "chmod +x run.sh" without the quotes. This tells the Terminal the script hs permission to be run. This is where a lot of us were falling down. Mac OS is Unix based, and therefor all about permissions. 8. Type "sh run.sh" without the quotes. 9. Follow the prompts as it runs. Don't forget to use the write command before you exit the Terminal, or your script won't be saved! 10. Schedule is written to the same folder the Java app is in.

I hope this question isn't redundant.
I want to create leagues with balanced inter league play. Example : 1 League ( MLB ) . With 2 Sub Leagues or Divisions ( AL & NL ) . 16 teams. 10 games against each team,5 at home ,5 on the road. 150 games per team. Can this Schedule Generator create this type of schedule ? Yes, it can create this. Set the division game settings to 70 games in 5-game series, the subleague game settings to 0 games, and the interleague game settings to 80 games in 5-game series.

Also looking to create another League & World Series. Can I please get your feedback on these 2 concepts,I think they will work too.
20 team league. 2 sub leagues or divisions,10 teams per division. 8 games against each team with inter league play. 4 at home 4 on the road. 152 game schedule. 2 team World Series, best out of 9 games,5 & 4 home games respectively. Thank You bwburke94 ! This can be a major game changer for my future OOTP Wishlist ! Last edited by LouisSVillano; 01-27-2022 at 03:57 PM. |

I'm trying to make a schedule with the following set-up:
32 teams, 2 subleagues (3 divisions each, 5/6/5 set-up), 172 games Interleague play: ~24-30 games with matching divisions (not sure if I'm using the right term here - basically, I want the 5 teams in the "AL West" to play the 5 teams in the "NL West," the 6 teams in the "AL Central" to play the 6 teams in the "NL Central," etc). All-Star game: ~75-80% of the way through the season (so basically, divisional races begin in earnest right after the all star break) I've gotten the generator to make a few of these for me, but I keep getting the Home-Away balanced all messed up: everybody's either playing 88h/84 away or vice-versa, with a few 87/85's mixed in for good measure. I need to get that fixed. Any advice?

Home/away balance can be hard to generate, especially in an uneven structure. You may have to manually flip a few series.
