Historical League Revenue Drop

The online historical league that I run started on 21 in 1995. I kept all financials default with the historical league start for 95 at time of creation and throughout the history of the league. I made one change in 1999 and that was raising the cash max by about 750k.

We moved to OOTP 22 after the 1999 season going into 2000. Originally we moved to 22 then advanced to the offseason. When we did this we had a massive drop in revenue as seen on the revenue settings page. It dropped more than 20 million. As a result the entire leagues budgets dropped drastically to the point no one had any money to use.

I then went back to OOTP 21 advanced to the offseason and then moved to 22. All good.

We just finished up the 2000 season, advanced to the offseason and the same exact thing happened again. Keep in mind on 21 this NEVER happened. I was not able to find a work around, and so I restored my league from backup, and unchecked the import historical finances then advanced to the offseason. When I did this, the revenue settings stayed the same and everyones budgets stayed at or close to where they were.

Not sure why the revenue/budgets drop so much when advancing to the offseason on 22 with the import historical finances box checked.

I dont know this is a bug or not, but it is really making my life difficult as an online league commish especially when I didnt mess with any of the financials when I created the game on 21, or in the entire history besides the cash max raise.

Also the "How to FTP files to OOTP Developments" link doesn't work.

If you have the league right before the change to the off-season, that would be ideal for us to see. If this link works (https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...p-developments), follow the steps on there. Or for online leagues, often it's easy enough to simply send a link to where the files are hosted or send the quick-start link to us and we can grab the files and look into.

Otherwise, since you say it seems to happen when the importing historical financials is enabled, the first thing to check is to see what actually changed. There's always a chance there's an issue in your historical financials file which caused a 20M tv revenue to be set at 20k or something. If you can narrow down which actual piece is dropping and causing revenue projections to lower, that's the first thing to understand what's happening.

This also happened in an online league that I'm a member of, so curious if there has been any progress on this. We are plowing ahead with the out of whack financials (some teams are suddenly 40 million in the red) but trying to find a way to reset the numbers to the OOTP 21 baseline.

As best I can tell, it's handling things correctly. The game is set to baseline the financial values, and then will boost media contracts up, but the game likely is showing that player salaries aren't super high going forward. I think some of it may be an issue with how the historical financials interact with the import, as in 22 we re-based a lot of the financials.

We will certainly look down the road to better align some of those values, but for now, it might make sense to disable the historical financial import for a few seasons, and basically each year, check to see what exactly it will do.
