Are there players still under contract who are "retired"?

One thing I like to do is clear all injuries at the start of the game but I also want to do it in a fair way.

So, the same way I want Vegas to have Eichel I also don't want the Islanders saddled with Boychuk since he is never going to play in the NHL again and to do that will push a player who actually will off the roster.

Besides Boychuk, are there any players who are similar...still on LTIR but are all but retired and will never play in the NHL again? For those players, I want to put them back on IR with an injury that will outlast their contract.

First off, Boychuk is no longers the Islanders problem. They traded him to Buffalo.

The Senators last year had 4 guys or so in this situation (I can't remember all of them, but I know Ryan Callahan was one). The Jets have Brian Little. Canucks? Ferland. Every team probably has one. Players are designated with an indefinite IR tag so they don't really cost your team that much.

Great feedback, Adam. That gives me a place to look. I don't know all the players in this circumstance so indefinite IR is a little problematic because some of those guys will be back and they would be ones I would remove the injury from. I know others aren't coming back but stay there to give their team cap relief they wouldn't get if they just retired or for some other reason. So glad you (and others, hopefully) can point out some players in the latter category.

If memory serves correctly, I think Kesler with the Ducks would be another. Still listed with hip soreness, though his career is all but over.
