Issues With NHL Standings

I'm running a standard league as the Coyotes, and have the playoffs set to 1v8. The standings in both conferences are messed up between seeds 6-8, causing the Coyotes to have to play #1 Colorado, rather than being in 7th, and playing #2 Edmonton.

That's correct, the top 6 spots go to the top 3 teams in each division, and the other two are wild card spots. If the top wild card spot has more points than the #3 team in the other division, they're still seeded behind them.

Right, but if I have my playoffs set to the old 1v8, 2v7, etc., it doesn't change how the standings are done?

Ah, gotcha, missed that part. I think it may not change along with the playoff system, I'll see if we can do that.
